In view Line Block/Power block for facilitating Engineering Works in Basin Bridge Jn – Vyasarpadi Section for insertion of temporary girder at Bridge No.14 R between Basin Bridge and Vyasarpadi in Chennai Division, the following changes are made in pattern of train Services: Diversion of Express Trains Services: ØTrain No. 22647 Korba – Kochuveli Superfast Express leaving Korba at 19.40 hrs oÂn 10thJune, 2023 will be diverted to run via Korukkupet, Washermanpet, Chennai Beach and Chennai Egmore skipping stoppage at Dr MGR Chennai Central. ØTrain No. 13351 Dhanbad – Alappuzha Express leaving Dhanbad at 11.35 hrs oÂn 10th, 12th June, 2023 will be diverted to run via Korukkupet, Washermanpet, Chennai Beach and Chennai Egmore skipping stoppage at Dr MGR Chennai Central. ØTrain No. 22502 New Tinsukia – SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Superfast Express leaving New Tinsukia at 18.05 hrs on 09th June, 2023 will be diverted to down slow Line and skipping stoppage at Perambur. Additional Stoppage will be provided at Tiruvallur for the convenience of passengers ØTrain No. 22645 Indore – Kochuveli Weekly Express leaving Indore at 16.45 hrs on 12thJune, 2023 will be diverted to run via Vyasarpadi, Washermanpet, Chennai Beach and Chennai Egmore skipping stoppage at Dr MGR Chennai Central Short Termination of Train Service: ØTrain No. 22650 Erode – Dr MGR Chennai Central Yercaud Express leaving Erode at 21.00 hrs on 11th and 13th June, 2023 will be short terminated at Perambur. The train will be partially cancelled between Perambur and Dr MGR Chennai Central ØTrain No. 22652 Palakkad – Dr MGR Chennai Central leaving Palakkad at 16.10 hrs on 13th June, 2023 will be short terminated at Avadi. The train will be partially cancelled between Avadi and Dr MGR Chennai Central ØTrain No. 12658 KSR Bengaluru - Dr MGR Chennai Central Mail Express leaving KSR Bengaluru at 22.40 hrs on 13th June, 2023 will be short terminated at Avadi. चेनà¥à¤¨à¥ˆà¤®à¤‚डल/CHENNAI DIVISION Continuing its efforts of providing better amenities and facilities to rail passengers, Chennai Division of Southern Railway has commissioned two new lifts with all safety features for the convenience of commuters at Basin Bridge Railway Station, today (01.07.2022). These two lifts were procured and commissioned at a cost of Rs.80 lakhs with a carrying capacity of 13 persons. The newly commissioned lifts will bring much needed relief for the commuters, especially physically challenged, senior citizens and pregnant ladies to reach Platform/concourse/exit areas with ease. These new lifts were installed on Platform Nos. 2 & 3 at Foot Over Bridge (FOB) which will connect passengers to the FOB leading to Platform Nos. 6 & 7. At Present, 40 lifts at 21 stations and 55 escalators at 18 stations are functioning within the jurisdiction of Chennai Division. In addition, 2 more escalators have been planned for commissioning at Chengalpattu and Arakkonam in this Financial Year. Moreover, the work of installing new lifts at Chennai Egmore, Villivakkam, Ambattur, Korattur, Tiruninravur, Chrompet, Ponneri, Washermanpet and Royapuram Railway stations, is also progressing quickly.
