Freight Customers meet organised o­n North Central Railway

On 26.06.20 a freight customer meet organised by North Central Railway. Chaired by GM NCR & NR Sri Rajiv Chaudhry this meeting organised through video conference was attended by all leading freight loading industries o­n NCR territory along with PCOM NCR Sri Ravi Valluri , PCCM NCR Sri M N Ojha , PCME NCR Sri Kundan Kumar , PFA NCR Sri Ajay Mathur , PCE NCR Sri Shrad Mehta , PCSTE NCR Sri Arun Kumar CCM FM NCR Smt. Anu Mani Tripathi, CFTM NCR Sri P K Ojha, Dy CCM Frt NCR Sri Jitendra Kumar besides Sr DOMs , Sr DCMs and Dy CTM from divisions.

Meeting was held with a view to improve facilities for loading andunloading and to find out ways and means to increase loading.

Meeting was attended by representatives of all leading industries under NCR jurisdiction like IOCL /Baad, HTPR/Rasoolpur , DCPG/Paricha, MJC/Chunar , KLPL/Panki, Ultratech cement & power house ,CONCOR etc. besides Chamber of Commerce representatives from Prayagraj and Kanpur .

CCM FM NCR Smt. Anu Mani Tripathi welcomed all participants in the meeting and informed o­n salient points of new policy of Indian Railways for increasing freight loading. CCM NCR Sri M N Ojha said that NCR has taken many steps and cooperation from industry side is needed to make up the shortfall in freight loading due to Covid-19.

In his address to participants, General Manger Sri Rajiv Chaudhry said that Railways is making all possible efforts to stimulate growth of country’s economy through sustained loading and freight train operations. He also informed that for meeting small and medium loading needs time tabled parcel services are being operationalized. He called upon industries to suggest ways and means to increase loading and advised NCR official for speedy disposal of all issues and grievances of freight loading industries.

With all Covid-19 related precautions, NCR as o­n 25.06.20 has loaded 2.79 million tonnes freight including 1.57 million tonnes petroleum and bitumen products ,310000 tonnes food grains, 400000 cement and 80000 tonnes fertilizer. In spite of Covid-19 pandemic, Agra division of North Central Railway loaded record 147 petroleum rakes from Baad depot in May-20. o­n front of parcel 727 tonnes parcel has been loaded till 25.06.20 including 177 tonnes medicines and medical goods.

13 THOUSAND FOOD PACKETS DISTRIBUTED IN A SINGLE DAY o­n 3rd MAY, UNDER MISSION FOODDISTRIBUTION BY WESTERN RLY & IRCTC              

The Mission Food Distribution   being organised jointly by Western Rly & IRCTC, entered in its 36th day o­n 3rd May, 2020, as it was started o­n 29th March, 2020. o­n 3rd May, 2020, total 13 thousand food packets were distributed in a single day over all 6 divisions of Western Rly, to various needy &  helpless persons. These packets have been  comprising of lunch & dinner both.

      According to a press release, issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, in this food distribution, maximum 7 thousand packets were provided by IRCTC from its base kitchens at Mumbai Central & Ahmedabad, while remaining food packets were arranged by WR's commercial department from other charitable sources. It's worth mentioning that during the period of 36 days from 29th March, 2020 to 3rd May, 2020, approximately 4.50 lakh  food packets have been distributed under joint Mission Food Distribution of WR & IRCTC. Out of this, maximum share of 2.38 Lakh  food packets were provided by West Zone of IRCTC through its base kitchens of Mumbai Central & Ahmedabad, while rest of the packets were distributed by Western Rly's commercial department with the help of other sources & NGOs. It's worth mentioning that the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the catering arm of the railway network, has been supplying food to the underprivileged sections for last 36 days, during lockdown. IRCTC & Western Railway have continued their campaign to serve the society in these difficult times of COVID 19 pandemic. IRCTC's West Zone served  meals from its base kitchen at Mumbai Central to NGO's spread over South and Central Mumbai for  further distribution to needy persons.  IRCTC's  West Zone, o­n 3rd May, 2020 provided 4 thousand  and 3 thousand community Bhojans from its Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad base kitchens respectively. The  Commercial and RPF Departments of Western Railway are also playing major role in distribution of these meals. While delivering the food to needy persons, necessary aspects of social distancing and hygiene are being ensured minutely by all concerned. In addition to IRCTC's community food, Mumbai Central division's commercial staff distributed 710 meal packets through various NGOs at different places over Mumbai Division, while in Ahmedabad division, 3425 food packets were distributed other than IRCTC. 1500 packets were distributed by Vadodara division, while food distribution was also continued in Rajkot, Bhavnagar & Ratlam divisions. Jain Sangh of Vapi distributed   50 food packets to housekeeping staff, parcel loaders and o­n duty staff at Vapi station. Grocery kits were distributed at Valsad station, while WR's commercial staff distributed food packets near Charni Road & Matunga Road stations & Parichar Sadan at Mumbai Central.
