RPF/ER APPREHENDED ALLEGED CRIMINAL, RECOVERED LEFT BEHIND LUGGAGE OF THE PASSENGERS Kolkata, March 27, 2021: Railway Protection Force (RPF)/Eastern Railway plays pivotal role to provide all out security to the rail users ranging from rescuing teenage boys & girls, arresting touts, recovering narcotics and left behind bags. They have also made commendable works to extend guidance & assistance to the rail users besides their task of ensuring security to the passengers. Some of the recent incidents where RPF, Eastern Railway made its pro-active efforts are detailed hereunder:- 1)On 21.3.2021, officers & staff of Crime Prevention Detection Squad, RPF/Howrah Division apprehended a person from 03011 Howrah – Malda special at Talit Railway station. on interrogation, it revealed that he is involved in an IPC related crime and also came with the intention to commit crime. The apprehended person was subsequently handed over to GRP/ Barddhaman. 2)On 21.3.2021, officers & staff of RPF Post/Barrackpore rescued a female person with her two minor boys aged about 6 & 4 years from level crossing gate No. 14/T near Barrackpore Railway station while she was trying to commit suicide in front of UP suburban train. on interrogation, it revealed that she tried to commit suicide with her two minor boys due to family dispute. She and her two minor boys were handed over to her husband after due verification. 3)On 21.3.2021, on receipt of information from Security Control Room/Sealdah, officers & staff of RPF Post/Kolkata recovered a left behind folded wheel chair valued ₹.5,000/- in 03160 DN Jogbani Special Express on its arrival at Kolkata Railway station. Later on, the recovered wheel chair was handed over to its owner on proper documentation. 4)On 21.3.2021, officers & staff of RPF Post/Kalyani recovered an unclaimed bag containing valuable documents and cash worth of ₹.15,000/- in 31329 UP Sealdah – Kalyani Simanta local at Kalyani Simanta Railway station. The recovered bag was handed over to its owner after due verification & documentation. 2

RUNNING OF NON-SUBURBAN DEMU PASSENGER SERVICES AS SPECIAL TRAIN Kolkata, March 11, 2021: Following non-suburban DEMU passenger services will run w.e.f. 13.03.2021 as special trains with revised train numbers: * 73538 Jasidih – Andal passenger via Barabani will run as special train with revised no.03538 from 13.03.2021. * 73539 Andal – Jasidih passenger via Barabani will run as special train with revised no.03539 from 13.03.2021. * 73581 Jasidih – Banka passenger will run as special train with revised no.03581 from 13.03.2021. * 73582 Banka - Jasidih passenger will run as special train with revised no.03582 from 13.03.2021.
