Safety Seminar organized at the N.F.Railway HQ

A seminar was organised on 29th May, 2015 at the Conference Hall of N.F.Railway HQ by the Safety Department of N.F.Railway in connection with the "Railyatri / Upbhokta Pakhwada". Shri R.S.Virdi, General Manager, N.F.Railway was the Chief Guest on the occasion which was also attended by all principal officers. Discussions and deliberations were held for further improvement in the safety related aspects. N.F Railway performed well on safety front during the last year with a 33% reduction in cases of Consequential accidents. In fact, causalities at both manned and unmanned level crossings have become zero. Level crossing accidents also reduced to nil during the last year. This has been possible through constant efforts by railway personnel at all levels and education of citizens and rail users. Human life is precious and we railwaymen are committed to preserve it in our sphere.

Some of the measures taken by N.F.Railway for improving safety are conducting public education drives for level crossing safety, reaching out in villages and schools, carrying out safety drives to improve skills and safety consciousness. A policy of rewards and punishments is driven hard to keep the thrust on.
Today, GM / N.F.Railway has released 10 Safety Posters covering salient safety sensitive areas and the Zonal Disaster Management Plan -2015 for N.F.Railway. These inputs will further strengthen safety of railway passenger.
