COMPLETION OF GIRDER LAUNCHING WORK OF ROB AT BAGNAN MUCH AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

 

Kolkata, 22nd December, 2013

 

All the three girders of Road Over Bridge at Bagnan on Howrah-KharagpurSection in Kharagpur Divison of South Eastern Railway have successfully been launched well before the target timei.e. more than three hours before schedule.The girder launching work which started at 00.45 hrs. has been completed at 06.13 hrs this morning(22.12.2013). The first girder at Kharagpur end was launched at 04.00 hrs while the middle girder was launched at05.05 hrs. Thelaunchingof third girder at Howrah end was completed at 06.13 hrs. The re-slewing of over head equipment(i.e. re-fixing of wires, masts, booms, drop-arms etc). was completed at9.05 hrsand the site of work was declared fit for normal movement of trains 3 hrs and 40 mins. aheadof schedule.

 

MORE EMU SPECIALS & CANCELLATION OF DIVERSION:

 

Since the block was cancelled ahead of schedule, SER has normalised the train operations also in advance.

·EMU specials are being run from Howrah towards Kharagpur in the UP Direction and from Kharagpur/Panskura to Howrah in the DN direction.

·12509 Bangalore-Guwahati Express which was diverted via Hijli-Midnapur-Adra-Asansol will now run on normal route i.e. via Kharagpur-Howrah.

 

 

 

 

 

TRAINS RESCHEDULED TODAY(22.12.13)

 

·12703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express has been rescheduled from Howrah by 4 hrs.50 minutes.

·12245 Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto Express has been rescheduled from Howrah by 1 hour.

·12860 Howrah-Mumbai Gitanjali Express has been rescheduled from Howrah by 2 hours.

·12841 Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Express has been rescheduled from Howrah by 6 hours.

·12663 Howrah-Tiruchchirapalli Express has been rescheduled from Howrah by 6 hrs.55 minutes.

·19659 Shalimar-Udaipur Express has been rescheduled from Shalimar by 2 hours.

·12863 Howrah-Yesvantpur Express has been rescheduled from Howrah by 5 hrs.10 minutes.

·12950 Santragachi-Porbandar Kavi Guru Express has been rescheduled from Santragachi by 2 hrs. 50 minutes.

·12837 Howrah-Puri Express has been rescheduled from Howrah by 4 hrs. 30 minutes.

·18645 Howrah-Hyderabad East Coast Express has been rescheduled from Howrah by 4 hrs. 25 minutes.

 

HOW THE WORK WAS CARRIED OUT

 

This massive work has successfully been completed much before schedule with the dedicated and untiring efforts by the workforce of 500 officers, engineers and staff deployed at the site. In this gigantic work, two cranes of 140 tons capacity each were engaged for launching of three girders each measuring 25 meter in length and 56 tons in weight. Six tower wagons were also used to bring down the overhead equipment (OHE wires, masts, beams etc.) before launching of the girders and again reassembling the OHE after the work. The reassembling of the OHE was completed at 9.05 hrs this morning. For the purpose of smooth completion of this gigantic work, train services on Up main line, middle line and Dn.Main lines remained suspended since 00.45 hrs of 22.12.2013. Moreover, the Level Crossing Gate No. 39 at the Howrah end of Bagnan Station also remained closed from 12.00 hrs of 21.12.2013to facilitate the work.

 

 

 

 

RESUMPTION OFTRAIN SERVICES AT BAGNAN

 

The first train 12838 Puri-Howrah Express passed the site at 10.30 hrs in the down direction.The first UP train to pass the site was Howrah-Kharagpur EMU Special at 10.40 hrs.

 

 

ARRANGEMENT MADE FORTATANAGAR & KHARAGPUR BOUND PASSENGERS

 

For the convenience of about 350 Tatanagar and Kharagpur bound passengers who weretravelling by 12809 Mumbai-Howrah Mail, 12129 Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express and 12101 LTT-Howrah Jnaneswari Express, South Eastern Railway had made the following arrangements :-

 

·Passengers bound for Tata & Kharagpur in these trains were informed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus(CSTM)/ Pune/ Lokmanyya Tilak(T) as well as during the journey that the trains would not touch Tata or Kharagpur but will get diverted.

 

·350Tatanagar and Kharagpur bound passengersof the above mentioned trains were detrained at Chakradharpur.

 

·A special train was arranged to run from Chakradharpur to Kharagpur for the 300 Tatanagar &Kharagpur bound passengers.

 

·About 50 more Tatanagar bound passengers were accommodated by 18006 Jagdalpur-Howrah Express.

 

·This special train consisting of 8 coaches (1 AC-3, 4 Sleeper Class, 1 ordinary 2nd class & 1 SLR) started from Chakradharpur with the passengers and reached Kharagpur via Tatanagar at 8 a.m.

TRAIN SERVICES RESUMED IN ECoR:


Due to cyclone PHAILAN, train services in Howrah-Visakhapatnam section of East Coast Railway was disrupted and cancelled o­n 12th and 13th October 2013. The machinery of East Coast Railway set up for cyclone management was kept o­n functioning for the restoration of traffic and o­n continuous review of the situation; East Coast Railway has partially resumed some of the train services from the afternoon of 13th October 2013 o­nwards. In view of the above, it has been decided to run most of the trains o­n normal route in scheduled timings, rescheduling of some trains and cancel few trains o­n 14th October 2013.

         18447 Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express.

         18437 Bhubaneswar-Bhawanipatna Express.

     Rescheduling of trains o­n 14.10.2013:

              18309 Sambalpur-Nanded Express will leave Sambalpur at 1300 hrs. instead of its scheduled time.

              18425 Puri-Durg Express will leave Puri at 0500 hrs o­n 15.10.13 (Tuesday) instead of its scheduled time o­n 14.10.2013.

              02830 Bhubaneswar-Chennai special super fast express will leave Bhubaneswar at 2100 hrs today will run with the timings of 12830 Bhubaneswar-Chennai Express.

             12882 Puri-Howrah Garib Rath Express will leave Puri at 0430 hrs o­n 15.10.2013 instead of its scheduled timings o­n 14.10.2013.

              18106 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Express will leave Bhubaneswar at 1630 hrs o­n 14.10.2013 instead of its earlier timings.

Cancellation of Trains o­n 14.10.2013:

     18411/18412 Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express will remain cancelled from both the directions.

           18414 Puri-Paradeep Express.

      18416 Puri-Barbil Express.
