8 Trains from (VDM)VADAMADURA to (AYR)AYYALUR

In view of Line Block/Power Block for facilitating construction of Subway in lieu of manned Level Crossing No. 303 A at Km 421/500-600 between Thamaraipadi - Vadamadura Stations in Tiruchchirappalli – Dindigul Section, consequently the following changes in the pattern of train services:

Diversion of Train Services:

·Train No. 16848 Sengottai – Mayiladuturai Express leaving Sengottai at 07.00 hrs o­n 11^th, 12^th April, 2023 will be diverted to run via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikkudi and Tiruchchirappalli skipping stoppages at Kalligudi, Tirumangalam, Tiruparankundram, Madurai, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul, Vaiyampatti & Manaparai. Additional stoppage will be provided at Manamadurai for the convenience of passengers

·Train No. 16128 Guruvayur – Chennai Egmore Express leaving Guruvayur at 23.15 hrs o­n 11^th April, 2023 will be diverted to run via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikkudi and Tiruchchirappalli skipping stoppages at Madurai, Sholavandan, Dindigul and Manaparai. Additional stoppage will be provided at Manamadurai for the convenience of passengers

·Train No. 16127 Chennai Egmore – Guruvayur Express leaving Chennai Egmore at 09.00 hrs o­n 12^th April, 2023 will be diverted to run via Tiruchchirappalli, Karaikkudi, Manamadurai & Virudhunagar skipping stoppages at Manaparai, Dindigul, Sholavandan, Kudal Nagar and Madurai. Additional stoppage will be provided at Manamadurai for the convenience of passengers

·Train No. 16847 Mayiladuturai – Sengottai Express leaving Mayiladuthurai Jn at 11.30 hrs o­n 12^th April, 2023 will be diverted to run via Tiruchchirappalli, Karaikkudi, Manamadurai & Virudhunagar skipping stoppages at Manaparai, Vaiyampatti, Dindigul, Kodaikanal Road, Madurai, Tiruparankundram, Tirumangalam and Kalligudi. Additional stoppage will be provided at Manamadurai for the convenience of passengers

Partial Cancellation of Train Service:

·Train No. 22671 Chennai Egmore- Madurai Tejas Express leaving Chennai Egmore at 06.00 hrs o­n 12^th April, 2023 will be partially cancelled between Tiruchchirappalli and Madurai. The train will be short terminated at Tiruchchirappalli and the train will not run from Tiruchchirappalli to Madurai

·Train No. 22672 Madurai – Chennai Egmore Tejas Express leaving Madurai Jn at 15.00 hrs o­n 12^th April, 2023 will be partially cancelled between Madurai and Tiruchchirappalli. The train will commence service from Tiruchchirappalli at its scheduled departure time of 17.05 hrs

Shri John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway conducted annual inspection between Madurai – Tiruchchirappalli Section of Madurai Division covering important major and minor stations today, 13^th November, 2021. This is part of his annual exercise to review the Division’s performance.  Shri P. Ananth, Divisional Railway Manager of Madurai Division, Principal Heads of Departments, other officers and staff accompanied the General Manager.

During his inspection of Madurai Junction, General Manager inspected Modern signaling arrangements at the Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) Cabin, Foot Over Bridge and various passenger amenities at the station. He also viewed the plans for Remodeling of Madurai Railway Station Building.   

At Sholavandan Station, General Manager inspected the station facilities and Level Crossing Gate No.313 near the station. He also inspected the Route Relay Interlocking System at Sholavandan and Points and Crossings at Samayanalur Railway Station.

At Dindigul Railway Station, through Video Conferencing, Shri John Thomas inaugurated the Multipurpose Employee Training Center at Tirupankundram. He inspected Dindigul North Railway Colony and interacted with the residents. He also opened the renovated Kalyana Mandapam and visited the Running Room and Newly constructed parking lot and also inspected the Marudaiyar Rail Bridge in Vada Madurai – Ayyalur Section. He commissioned Testing Facility for Electronic Interlocking known as EI FAT MEDHA SETUP. Later, he released various in house publications for the benefit of running staff such as ‘Case study Analysis of Track Circuit’ booklet, Train Guard Manual, Fire Prevention Brochure, Train Safety Banners and Disaster  Management Guide. He also visited the Health Unit at Dindigul and interacted with the Doctors, Nurses and Paramedical Staff. Appreciating their humanitarian service during the Covid First and Second Waves, General Manager presented awards and merit certifications to outstanding healthcare professionals.

The General Manager also inspected Gang No.9 at Vaiyampatti and interacted with the Gangmen.

During the course of inspection, General Manager met the representatives of various passenger associations, Trade Unions and Employees Association etc. The officers and employees who performed remarkable work were honored with awards and merit certificates o­n the spot.  He interacted with Press and Media at Madurai Jn and detailed about the developments taking place in Madurai Division and the progress of various projects in the region.

Later, General Manager also conducted a Speed Trial between Vaiyampatti and Tiruchchirappalli Station during the course of the Inspection.
