Smt. Darshana Jardosh – Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways & Textiles inaugurated various infrastructural projects pertaining to safety and enhancing convenience through speedier connectivity at a function held at Unjha station o­n 13th May, 2022. Shri Purnesh Modi - Hon’ble Minister of Road and Building, Transport, Civil Aviation, Tourism & Pilgrimage Development, Govt. of Gujarat; Shri Nitinbhai Patel – Hon’ble Ex Deputy Chief Minister, Govt. of Gujarat; Hon’ble MPs - Smt Shardaben Patel,Shri Bharatsinhji Dabhi, Shri Parbatbhai, Shri Jugalsinh Lokhandwala, Shri Dineshchandra Anavadiya and Hon’ble MLAs – Shri Ramanbhai Patel, Shri Ajmalji Thakor & Shri Karshanbhai Solanki, other distinguished guests including Shri Tarun Jain – Divisional Railway Manager of Ahmedabad Division of WR and senior railway officers were also present.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, in a major boost to enhancing safety, speed & increasing the mobility, Hon’ble MoSR Smt. Darshana Jardosh inaugurated several Road over Bridges - the newly constructed Road Over Bridges at Palanpur – Umardashi, Unjha - Bhandu Motidhau section & Twin Road Over Bridge (No.1) at Palanpur station and also a Pedestrian Subway at Palanpur Yard in Ahmedabad Division. In her address, Hon’ble MoSR shared her vision for Indian Railways in general as well as for Western Railway and welcomed the new & positive changes that Railways is bringing to the region. She emphasized that these public welfare projects will increase safety & security of passengers and will also bring about ease in commuting and comfort to all stakeholders.

Shri Thakur further stated that the new Road over Bridges have been constructed in lieu of Level Crossings (LC No. 170, 206, 208B) while a Twin ROB (No.1) has been constructed at Palanpur yard. The ROBs have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 148.77 crores o­n cost sharing basis with Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) and also with State Government (in case of ROB in lieu of 208B). These projects have a direct impact o­n enhancing the safety & increasing the speed of trains as well as maintaining punctuality of rail traffic. The ROBs provides a smooth & safer alternative for vehicular movement thus reducing congestion. It also provides better connectivity for people from Bhandu, Visnagar, Jetal Vasna, Esbipura, Palanpur, etc. with Highway. Also, a new pedestrian subway has been constructed by DFFCIL at Palanpur station at a cost of Rs. 3.5 crores. The subway consists of ramps o­n both ends & will facilitate easy and safe movement of pedestrians, including Divyangjans.

North Central Railway

Today o­n 20.09.2021 36thRaising Day Celebration of Railway Protection Force was observed at Railway Protection Force Zonal Training Institute Subedarganj, North Central Railway Prayagrajin the august presence of Chief Guest,General Manager, North Central Railway Shri Pramod Kumar and Guest of Honour President North Central Railway Welfare Organization Smt. Poonam Kumar. The main attractions of the function were the Grand Railway Protection Force Parade, Dog Show, Unarmed Combat and cultural presentations.

Railway Protection Force was established as an armed force of the Union by amending the Railway Protection Force Act20 September 1985. Since then, from1986, this day is celebrated as Raising Day.

At the outset of the program, Chief Guest General Manager North Central Railway Shri Pramod Kumar inspected the RPF parade organised in the well decorated training centre premises. Shri Pramod Kumar also conferredDirector General Appreciation Medal and Certificatesupon the officers and jawansfor their outstanding contributions. Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Prayagraj Manoj Kumar Singh, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Agra Prakash Panda, Inspector Amit Meena, Sub-Inspector,Agra Devendra Solanki, Assistant Sub-Inspector AgraRaghuraj Singh and Constable Jhansi Narendra, who received the award, were prominent.

In his address o­n the occasion, the General Manager congratulated the Railway Protection Force personnel o­n the Raising Day and motivated them to continue their excellent work in future. He exhorted the Railway Protection Force personnel to carry out their duties keeping in mind the safety of the assets of Indian Railways and the interest of the customers.

Inspector General, Railway Protection Force (Principal Chief Security Commissioner) Shri RavindraVerma while congratulating the awardee officers and Jawans told about the achievements of Railway Protection Force and the roadmap for the future. He also praised the work of Railway Protection Force during the Covid period.

Program started with the parade and wasfollowed by dog show. Dogs 'Tom' and 'Jicks' presented bouquet to the Chief Guest and Live Demo of Explosive Discovery was presented by sniffer Dog 'Tom'. Hurdle jump and yoga were performed by Sultan. After the dog show, a cultural program was organized by the lady RPF personnel. During this, Kalbelia dance and an enchanting Vardi song by Manoj Pandey were presented.

RPF lady personnel demonstrated Unarmed Combat. During this, the lathi drill and breaking of burning tiles were done by the women soldiers. All the Principal heads of departments of North Central Railway, Divisional Railway Manager Prayagraj were present o­n the ocassion.

On this occasion, a newly established simulator, library &renovated gym installed in the training center were inaugurated by the General Manager. After this, General Manager and President Women Welfare Organization& other officers carried outplantation in the training center. The program was conducted by Inspector Ms. Suruchi Sharma.
