WESTERN RAILWAY TO ATTACH ADDITIONAL COACHES IN 13 PAIRS OF TRAINS o­n PERMANENT BASIS

Western Railway has decided to augment additional coaches in 13 pairs of trains o­n permanent basis, for the convenience of passengers. The details of which are as under:

 

1.Train number 19015/19016 Mumbai Central - Porbandar Express augmented with an additional two second class sleeper and o­ne AC 3 tier coach Ex Mumbai Central from 25.12.2021 and Porbandar from 26.12.2021.

 

2.Train No. 19003/19004 Bandra Terminus - Bhusaval Express augmented with an additional two second class sleeper and o­ne AC 3 tier coach Ex Bandra Terminus from 26.12.2021 and Ex Bhusaval from 26.12.2021

 

3.Train No. 19019/19020 Bandra Terminus - Haridwar Express, augmented with an additional o­ne AC 2 tier and o­ne AC 3 tier coach Ex Bandra Terminus from 25.12.2021 and Ex Haridwar from 26.12.2021.

GM, WR inaugurated PSA Oxygen Plant at Railway Main Hospital, Dahod

Western Railway is always in the forefront in adopting state-of-the-art technologies, latest medical procedures of treatment & creating a robust infrastructure for the treatment of patients. In the wake of recent situation of new COVID-19 Variant of Concern (VoC) – Omicron, it has become necessary to take concrete steps with pro-active approach to ensure proper arrangements at the railway hospitals for providing the best possible treatment and care to the COVID affected patients in the Railway Hospitals of WR. In this fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Western Railway has outshone itself in the medical field, making its medical fraternity strong and committed to its goal. In continuation to this goal, Shri Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway inaugurated a PSA Oxygen Plant at Railway Main Hospital, Dahod o­n 9th December, 2021. This is the 8th PSA Oxygen Plant commissioned by Western Railway. The plant has been made functional under the visionary leadership, continuous monitoring & able guidance of Shri Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, a PSA Oxygen Plant with a capacity of 180 LPM has been commissioned which will supply continuous oxygen to indoor patients of Railway Main Hospital, Dahod. This hospital has a total strength of 105 beds & the newly commissioned PSA will be able to supply oxygen to 41 beds. This Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plant will be helpful in prevention of shortage of oxygen crisis during emergency situations. The PSA plant has been installed at an approx. cost of Rs 40 Lakhs. Western Railway has commissioned such PSA Oxygen Plants at Jagjivan Ram Hospital, Divisional Railway Hospitals at Sabarmati, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Vadodara and Ratlam as well. With these sustained efforts, WR is moving ahead towards attaining Hon’ble PM’s vision of ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’. In the battle against COVID - 19 pandemic, these oxygen plants will ensure self-sufficiency of medical oxygen & its uninterrupted supply during crisis, bringing relief to the needy patients.

 

Speaking o­n this occasion, Shri Kansal stated that the commissioning of this PSA Oxygen plant will go a long way to make WR free from the dependency o­n Oxygen cylinders & it will ensure self – sufficiency. He stated that the Doctors and paramedics should receive adequate training to run this plant and for handling oxygen support systems. GM asserted o­n adopting proactive approach towards preventive medical healthcare for the employees. He further emphasized that the healthcare facility being provided to the employees should be the best. He insisted that we should be fully prepared to tackle any situation in this regard. GM exhorted that everyone should follow Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) at all the time. Also, vaccination of employees and family members should be ensured as it is reported that the incidence of severity is less in vaccinated individuals.

The meeting was attended by Additional General Manager, Principal Chief Medical Director and other Principal Head of Departments of Western Railway while the Divisional Railway Manager of Ratlam, Chief Workshop Manager – Dahod & Chief Medical Superintendent – Dahod & her team joined through video conferencing.
