PERMANENT CLOSURE OF LEVEL CROSSING GATE BETWEEN UKHRA & PANDABESWAR Kolkata, April 25, 2022: In this connection it is stated that, Railway Board has taken a policy decision to eliminate all level crossing gates throughout India in a phased manners by 2030, thereby ensuring safety & security of road users and at the same time enhancing average speed of all goods & passenger trains by ensuring seamless movement. 2

Central Railway Press Release General Manager, Central Railway Felicitates Olympic Women Hockey Players of Central Railway Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway felicitated Olympic women hockey players of Central Railway who represented the Indian Hockey Team at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Ms. Vandana Kataria, Ms. Monika Malik, Ms. Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam and Ms.Rajini Etimarpu represented the Indian Women Hockey Team at the Olympics 2020 which recently concluded at Tokyo. Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, while addressing said that he is happy to felicitate the four players of Central Railway. He said that Central Railway will continue to encourage sports in general and hockey in particular so that more laurels are brought to the country by the players. Sports stadiums and facilities for sports persons are given top priority and coaches will be provided so that players are better prepared to face the challenges in future. While felicitating the players who are working in Mumbai Division, the General Manager said that Central Railway is proud of the women hockey players for their best-ever finish in Olympics. He also congratulated Ms. Vandana Kataria who became the first Indian woman to score a hat trick in hockey at the Olympics. The players also were thankful for the Railway Administration that they are being given very good encouragement to concentrate in playing hockey without worries. Shri B.K. Dadabhoy, Additional General Manager, Shri Manoj Sharma, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) and President, Central Railway Sports Association(CRSA), and Principal Heads of Departments of Central Railway, Shri Shalabh Goel, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Division, Office bearers of recognized unions, sports persons and other officials were present on the occasion. Shri D J Sengupta , General Secretary, CRSA presented vote of thanks.
