South Central Railway has completed and commissioned 106 kms of Electric traction of the railway line between Vijayawada-Uppaluru-Bhimavaram sections of Vijayawada Division today i.e., 21st January, 2021. The newly commissioned Electrification work of the section includes single line with electric traction from Vijayawada to Uppaluru for a length of 18 kms and double line with electric traction from Uppaluru to Bhimavaram Town for a length of 88 kms. The total length of electric traction in terms of Track Kilometers in the section is 226 kms. The newly commissioned Electrification project is part of the Vijayawada – Gudivada – Bhimavaram – Narsapur, Gudivada – Machilipatnam & Narsapur – Nidadavolu Doubling and Electrification project of SCR, which is being executed at a cost of Rs. 3,000 Crore. With a vision to provide impetus to the development of coastal belt of Andhra Pradesh, Indian Railways took up the doubling and electrification project in the year 2011-12 for a distance of 221 kms. The new infrastructure development project will significantly strengthen Rail transport infrastructure for seamless movement of freight and passenger traffic on rails, the new double rail line is bound to serve public aspirations in several ways apart from saving energy and reducing fuel expenditure besides reducing carbon foot print. The work has been executed by RVNL (Rail Vikas Nigam Limited) with modern construction practices and technology adoption. Shri Ram Kripal, Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Central Circle conducted inspection of Electric traction between Vijayawada – Uppaluru single line and double line section between Uppaluru – Bhimavaram Town on 19th & 20th January, 2021. He authorized the zone to run the Passenger and Freight trains on the section. Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR expressed his happiness at the achievement of the Zone. He complemented the officials for completing the project works as per schedule, overcoming the unexpected impact of COVID-19 pandemic situation. The General Manager opined that the long felt needs of the Coastal Belt of Andhra Pradesh have been fulfilled. 2

South Central Railway will run 18 summer special trains between Tirupati-Narsapur and Secunderabad-Machilipatnam in order to clear extra rush of passengers during summer season as per the following schedule:-
Train No. 07029 Tirupati - Narsapur Jansadharan Special Train will depart Tirupati at 08:00 hrs on 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th June, 2015 (Mondays) and arrive Narsapur at 19:30 hrs on the same day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07030 Narsapur - Tirupati Janasadharan Special Train will depart Narsapur at 07:15 hrs on 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30thJune, 2015 (Tuesdays) and arrive Tirupati at 22:00 hrs on the same day.
Enroute, these special trains will stop at Renigunta, Sri Kalahasti, Gudur, Nellore, Kavali, ongole, Chirala, Bapatla, Nidubrolu, Tenali, New Guntur, Vijayawada, Uppalur, Tarigoppala, Gudivada, Mandavalli, Kaikalur, Akivedu, Bhimavaram Town, Bhimavaram Jn, Veravasam and Palakolu stations in both the directions.
These special trains will consist of ten coaches viz., eight General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake van Coaches.
2.Secunderabad – Machilipatnam -Secunderabad Special Trains (8 services):-
Train No. 07050 Secunderabad - Machilipatnam Special Train will depart Secunderabad at 10:30 hrs on 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th June, 2015 (Sundays) and arrive Machilipatnam at 19:45 hrs on the same day. In the return direction, Train No. 07049 Machilipatnam - Secunderabad special train will depart Machilipatnam at 21:30 hrs on 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th June, 2015 (Sundays) and arrive Secunderabad at 05:55 hrs on the next day. Enroute, these special trains will stop at Kazipet, Warangal, Mahbubabad, Khammam, Vijayawada, Gudivada, Gudlavalleru and Pedana stations in both directions. These special trains will have 18 coaches viz, one AC II Tier, one AC III Tier, eight Sleeper Class, six General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches. (M.
