Shri Alok Kansal, General Manager, Central Railway launches File Sharing System

Shri Alok Kansal, General Manager, Central Railway launched File Sharing System o­n Central Railway today. The FSS is a handy tool which will facilitate "Work from home" during the Corona pandemic and also faster, reliable and common platform for data sharing among the HQ and Divisional officers. The system implementation has been done by the telecom team in coordination with IT centre of Central Railway. Facility of shared folder is provided over Headquarter departments and in Divisions upto the level of Deputy and Branch officers respectively.

Shri Alok Kansal while introducing this system, said that this will encourage data exchange and information pool where it will serve as a very effective tool in present times when work from home has become the need of the day.

GM/ER LAID STRESS o­n COVID CARE MANAGEMENT, FIRE SECURITY SYSTEM & FREIGHT LOADING 

Kolkata, May 11, 2021

Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Eastern Railway held a meeting through video conferencing with the Divisional Railway Managers, Principal Heads of Departments and Chief Works Managers at Eastern Railway’s Headquarters, Fairlie Place today (11.5.2021). Shri Aneet Dulat, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway was also present in the meeting. In the meeting issues related to COVID care management in view of the 2nd wave of corona virus, fire security system, freight loading & passenger amenity works were deliberated upon in detail.

1.Shri Joshi stressed o­n revamping of CCU beds at all Railway Hospitals across the Zone as it is the need of the hour. It is stated that out of 1515 total beds available in Railway Hospital over ER, 791 beds are earmarked as COVID beds. Total CCU beds available for COVID patients is 63 while 31 more CCU beds are planned to be augmented shortly.

2.In the awake of 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic, ER is in a process of inducting more doctors, specialist and paramedical staff o­n emergency basis to fight the crisis.

3.ER is continuing its vaccination endeavour at 15 centres at different hospitals & health units. Apart from that, 10 more vaccination centres are proposed to made operational at Ranaghat, Berhampore, Barddhaman, Katwa, Andal, Kanchrapara & Jamalpur.

4.GM thanked all Railwaymen for rendering tireless good work during the national crisis of pandemic. He congratulated all doctors, nurses & paramedical staff for putting in relentless efforts to fight the menace of pandemic under able administrative leadership.

5.GM has laid special stress o­n completion of fire safety management works by Civil Engineering Department at various administrative buildings. Fire alarm system, fire extinguisher and fire suppression system should be available in abundance in Signal & Telecommunication installations also.

6.GM/ER expressed his satisfaction over the fact that in April 2021 Eastern Railway has managed to load 4.26 million tonnes of freight more than last year. Coal loading has also been increasing significantly. Eastern Railway has also recorded substantial improvement in average freight train speed as it crosses 51 kmph mark.

7.Outstanding performance has been recorded in scrap selling by ER as it earned ₹.20.47 crores last month.

8.Shri Joshi expressed his satisfaction for the overall improvement of punctuality of mail/express trains. He instructed that safety & maintenance related works should be accorded highest priority and no slackness whatsoever will be tolerated.

9.Shri Joshi laid special stress o­n even better maintenance of passenger amenities at station premises so that a feel good feeling can be created among the passengers.
