In order to provide seamless connectivity and enhanced travel experience to Rail passengers, South Central Railway has commissioned a staggering 134 Track Kms (TKMs) of Electrification of Railway lines in the last 2 days comprising of major and important sections of the Zone, taking the total electrification completed in the current financial year to 274 Route Kms. The section between Dharmavaram - Kadiri is part of Dharmavaram - Pakala section which was converted into Broad gauge in the year 2011. This entire section was sanctioned for electrification in the year 2017-18 and under the first phase the section between Dharmavaram – Kadiri for distance of 77.89 TKM has been completed and commissioned. The works in the remaining portions are in fast progress.

The section between Lingampet Jagityal - Morthad is part of Peddapalli - Nizamabad new Railway line. The section between Peddapalli - Lingampet Jagityal for a distance of 83 Kms has already been completed.
