PRESS RELEASE
PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICE, SECUNDERABAD - 500 071
No.158/2023-2414-06-2023
PR No. 158 - New Temporary Booking Office Opened At Secunderabad Railway Station

Ã‚·New Temporary Booking Office, as part of Secunderabad Station redevelopment, starts functioning from today with 10 Counters.

·The old General Ticket Booking office will continue to work till midnight of 14th June 2023.

Another major step has been taken up as part of the Secunderabad Railway Station redevelopment, with the start of functioning of new temporary Booking Office on the North side of the Station building. Indian Railways has taken up the task of ‘Redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station’ to provide world class amenities with along with elegant features and modern look. Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, had recently laid the foundation stone for the station redevelopment in April 2023.

As part of it, a new station building with modern architecture and aesthetic façade is likely to come on the North-side of the existing station building. Along with it, a multi-level car parking and Two-Level Sky Concourse will also be constructed towards the north-side of the station building. In order to ensure that the passenger services remain unaffected during the course of the construction of new station building, a new temporary booking office has been constructed.

The new temporary Booking Office has been constructed near the exit gate i.e., nearer to the Parcel office and Gate No. 5, on the north-side of the station building. This has been equipped with 10 counters and will replace the current 9 functional counters which were being operated near gate no. 3 of the present station building. The New Temporary Booking Office has started functioning from today i.e., 13th June 2023 and will be available round-the-clock. To ensure seamless transfer of the booking operations for the passengers, the old Booking Counters will be operation till tomorrow i.e., 14th June 2023 midnight.

The New Temporary Booking Office will provide all facilities to the passengers like purchase of Unreserved (General) Tickets, Platform tickets, renewal of Season tickets as well as Enquiry facility. In addition, to further provide all avenues to the passengers, already 04 Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) have also been provided. This number will be enhanced in due course of time. Further, passengers can also continue to book their tickets without the need to stand in the queues through UTS App from their mobile, which provides all facilities as well.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway has said that the works of Secunderabad Station Upgradation are proceeding at a fast pace. He said that works are being continuously monitored at every stage so as to complete it within the schedule time period of 36 months. He appealed to the rail passengers to cooperate with railways in availing their tickets services from the new temporary booking office as well as from the UTS App on their mobiles.
