दकà¥à¤·à¤¿à¤£à¤ªà¥‚रà¥à¤µà¤°à¥‡à¤²à¤µà¥‡ SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY पà¥à¤°à¥‡à¤¸à¤µà¤¿à¤œà¥à¤žà¤ªà¥à¤¤à¤¿ PRESS RELEASE RAILWAY MINISTER FLAGS OFF MEMU PASSENGER AND INAUGURATES A NUMBER OF DEVELOPMENTAL WORKS AT BALASORE TODAY TO STRENGHTHEN THE RAIL CONNECTIVITY IN ODISHA Balasore, 7th January, 2022: Sri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India, inaugurated a number of passenger amenities and developmental works at Balasore today (7th January, 2022). Shri Bishweswar Tudu, Hon’bleMinister of State, Ministry of Tribal Affairs & Ministry of Jal Shakti andShri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble MP were present at the programmes. From Balasore station, the Hon’ble Railway Minister Flagged off 08411 Balasore - Bhubaneswar MEMU Passenger. Shri Vaishnaw has also laid the Foundation Stone for the work of Opening of Passenger Services between Balasore and Gopinathpur. Later, Hon’ble Minister has visited the Basta Station to inaugurate the Developmental Works. He also laid the Foundation Stone of the New Station Building at Jaleswar. While addressing the gathering at different places, Hon’ble Railway Minister stated that inauguration of the MEMU train will ensure better connectivity of Balasore with the State Capital, Bhubaneswar. Extension of rail network in Balasore and adjoining remote areas will enable passengers for travelling towards major stations like Bhubaneswar and Bhadrak. Giving importance to the passenger amenities, he said that development of station building and other facilities at Basta and Jaleswar will be immensely helpful for the local people. He added that, Government is committed to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Odisha and as a major step in this regard there has been substantial increase in allocation of funds during the recent time for expansion of Railway Network in Odisha. Mentioning Jaleswar as the gateway of Odisha, the Minister said that he would personally monitor the station development work including its design at Jaleswar. Hon’ble Minister also laid stress oÂn timely completion of all oÂngoing railway projects. Hon’ble Members of Legislative Assembly and other dignitaries were present at different venues. Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway welcomed the guests at all the functions. Principal Officers of South Eastern Railway also attended the programmes. *********** 2

दकà¥à¤·à¤¿à¤£ पशà¥à¤šà¤¿à¤® रेलवे/ SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY पà¥à¤°à¥‡à¤¸ विजà¥à¤žà¤ªà¥à¤¤à¤¿/ Press Release No. 165 Dt: 29.05.2021 ALERT RPF STAFF SEIZES ILLICIT LIQUOR Railway Protection Force staff during their routine check in trains and at station premises, have noticed following irregularities and took action under Railways Act. 1. LIQUOR BOTTLES SEIZED AT BENGALURU CANTT. On 28.05.2021 at about 7:45 hrs oÂn-duty Chandrashekhar, Assistant Sub Inspector and Rakesh Maurya, Constable, Bengaluru Cantonment found 04 bags in suspicious manner at Platform No. 2 of Bengaluru Cantonment. oÂn enquiry with passengers, its owner was identified by name Shri Sukanta Das, aged 36 years, S/o Shyamsundar Das, R/o Dakshin Pada, Deb Nagar, P.S. Namkahana, Deb Nagar South, 24 Parganas, West Bengal. He was about to board Train No. 06526 Island Express from KSR Bengaluru to Trivandrum Central. oÂn suspicion, the bags were checked and found liquor of different brand without any proper bill and he accepted that he purchased the same from a shop at Jakkuru, Bengaluru in order to black market the same in Kerala state at higher rate. Total 77 bottles, valued Rs. 26,433.83/-. The above person along with the liquor bottles were handed to Inspector, Excise Department, Bengaluru for further action as per procedure. 2. LIQUOR BOTTLES SEIZED AT VASCO On 28.05.21, Narasimha Murthy, Assistant Sub Inspector, Castlerock with staff during escort duty of Train No. 08048 Vasco-da-gama – Howrah Express found oÂne unclaimed bag between Vasco-da-gama - Madgaon containing 48 Nos. liquor bottles. The total value of Liquor was Rs. 1248/-. These Liquor bottles were seized and handed over to Excise Inspector at Vasco oÂn 29.05.21 for further disposal. 3. LIQUOR BOTTLES SEIZED AT KULEM On 29.05.2021 at about 05:21AM Shri R.M. Angadi, Head Constable, Castlerock received information from reliable source that liquor bottles are loaded in Goods Train from Kulem for illicit transport, Shri Parameshwer S. B Constable Castlerock oÂn arrival of the goods train at, checked and found 3 Plastic bags full with liquor bottles. The total value of seized liquor is Rs. 8179/-. All liquor bottles will be handed over to Excise Dandeli for further process as per rules. Chief Public Relations Officer
