REGULATION OF TRAINS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LIMITED HEIGHT SUBWAY

Kolkata, January 19, 2023


  For Limited Height Subway construction work in between Jirat and Balagarh stations (at LC gate no. 6/2), 770 minutes’ traffic and power block has been planned in Bandel – Katwa section o­n 22.01.2023. Consequently, following arrangements in train running have been made:-

Cancellation of EMU trains o­n 21.01.2023:

From Howrah – 37925
From Bandel – 37757

On 22.01.2023:

From Howrah - 37911, 37913, 37915, 37917, 37919, 37921.

From Bandel – 37747, 37749, 37751, 37753, 31111

Cancellation of Mail/Express train:

13466/13465 Malda - Howrah – Malda Intercity Express will remain cancelled o­n 22.01.2023

Rescheduling:

13141 Teesta  Torsa Express (journey commencing o­n 22.01.2033) will leave Sealdah at 18:45 hrs instead of its scheduled departure at 14:45 hrs.
03003 Howrah – Azimganj Special (journey commencing o­n 22.01.2033) will leave Howrah at 18:40 hrs instead of its scheduled departure at 16:05 hrs.

Diversion:

15643 Puri – Kamakhya Express (Howrah arrival at 07:05 hrs o­n 22.01.2023) and 02518 Guwahati – Kolkata Garib Rath Special (Azimganj arrival at 10:23 hrs o­n 22.01.2023) will be diverted via Bandel – Barddhaman – Rampurhat – Nalhati – Azimganj with stoppages at Bandel, Barddhaman and Rampurhat stations. Moreover, 37923 will be controlled for 10 minutes at Bandel station at 22.01.2023.

EMU Special services:

For the convenience of the passengers, four (4) pairs of EMU specials will run between Katwa and Nabadwip Dham o­n 22.01.2023. Katwa – Nabdwip Dham EMU Special will leave Katwa at 07:45 hrs, 10:30 hrs, 10:45 hrs & 17:35 hrs to reach Nabadwip Dham at 08:28 hrs, 11:20 hrs, 15:30 hrs & 18:19 hrs respectively.

Nabadwip Dham – Katwa EMU Special will leave Nabadwip Dham at 09:00 hrs, 12:05 hrs, 15:50 hrs & 18:50 hrs to reach Katwa at 10:00 hrs, 13:10 hrs, 16:55 hrs & 19:55 hrs respectively.

  Inconvenience to be caused to the passengers is deeply regretted.

HON’BLE PM FLAGGED OFF HOWRAH-NEW JALPAIGURI VANDE BHARAT EXPRESS &  DEDICATED/INAUGURATED A COUPLE OF RAILWAY PROJECTS FOR WEST BENGAL

Kolkata, December 30, 2022:

West Bengal gets India's first indigenously manufactured Semi High Speed Train Vande Bharat Express by the initiatives of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Today (30.12.2022) Hon’ble PM (through video conference) flagged off Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express which will connect Northern and Southern part of West Bengal with a remarkable acceleration. Union Minister of Railways, Communication, Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw was present at Howrah Station o­n this auspicious occasion. 

Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister also inaugurated Joka-Taratala Metro Project, laid foundation stone for redevelopment of New Jalpaiguri station and dedicated 4 Railway Projects (through video conferencing) in West Bengal ushering in a new plethora of development in this state.

  As a result of relentless effort of Indian Railways for ensuring multi-faceted development of West Bengal, fastest train of the country has been introduced in West Bengal reaching the distance of 561 kms to New Jalpaiguri with a travel time of o­nly 7hrs 30 mins as compared to 8½ hrs taken by the Shatabdi Express. 

  The ultra-modern Semi High Speed Train is a major leap for Indian Railways o­n the parameters of superior designs, interiors and speed, providing the passengers a pleasant travel experience. The Vande Bharat Express offers a myriad passenger amenities which will provide passengers with aircraft like travel experience & advanced state-of-the-art safety features including KAVACH technology. The infotainment system in every coach will be an added feature.

  The train is equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities such as o­n-board Wi-Fi infotainment, GPS based passenger information system, plush interiors, bio vacuum toilets with touch free amenities, diffused LED lighting, charging points beneath every seat, individual touch based reading lights and concealed roller blinds, better heat ventilation and air-conditioning system with UV lamp for germ free supply of air. The intelligent air-conditioning system adjusts the cooling according to the climate conditions/occupancy. The train will stop at Bolpur (Shantiniketan), Malda Town & Barsoi stations enroute in both the directions. It consists of AC Chair Car & AC Executive Class coaches. 

  Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken a lots of initiatives for introducing Joka-Taratala Metro Stretch (6.5 Km) of Joka-Esplanade Metro Project (Purple Line) to the people of West Bengal as a new year gift. This 6.5 Km stretch having 6 stations namely Joka, Thakurpukur, Sakher Bazar, Behala Chowrasta, Behala Bazar and Taratala has been constructed at a cost of 2535Cr. 

This stretch is going to provide fast, easy, pollution-free, comfortable and traffic snarl-free commuting to thousands of commuters in AC rakes. Passengers of southern fringes of the City like Sarsuna, Dakghar, Muchipara and South 24 Parganas will be immensely benefited due to this. Students, Professors and Researchers now will be able to reach IIM, Joka easily. The patients and their kins will be able to reach Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital at ease. o­ne can reach Taratala from Joka in Metro in just 15 minutes whereas roadways journey o­n Diamond Harbour Road, o­ne of the busiest thoroughfares of Kolkata takes around 35 minutes.

  All the 6 stations of the Purple Line are replete with ultra modern passenger amenities like lifts, escalators, toilets, tactiles, seating chairs and various safety arrangements like fire-fighting facilities etc. The stations are also aesthetically designed to make travelling experience memorable. 

  Besides, foundation stone has been laid by Hon’ble PM for New Jalpaiguri Station Redevelopment. New Jalpaiguri is a most important station in West Bengal and is the gateway to North-Eastern states as well as to the hills and Dooars region. The New Jalpaiguri station will be redeveloped at an estimated cost of Rs 337.42 crore. The redeveloped New Jalpaiguri station will have various salient features for passengers’ comfort and operational flexibility.

  There are various critical and super critical projects in West Bengal which are also dedicated for maintaining the growth path for the people of West Bengal and to foster socio economic development by enhancing mobility, operational flexibility and speed of both passenger and goods traffic.

  Bainchi - Shaktigarh 3rd Line (25.83 km): Bainchi - Shaktigarh 3rd Line (25.83 km) passes through Hooghly & Purba Burdwan district, completed at a cost of Rs 405 crore. 

  Dankuni - Chandanpur 4th Line Project (25.41 km):
Dankuni - Chandanpur 4th Line Project is a super critical project of 25.41 km stretch which is completed at a cost of Rs 565 crore. 

  Nimtita - New Farakka Double Line (25.42 km):
Nimtita - New Farakka Double Line (25.42 km) is a part of Sagardighi – Malda Town doubling project. Doubling in this 25.42 km stretch has been completed at a cost of Rs 254 crore. 

  Ambari Falakata - New Maynaguri - Gumanihat Doubling Project (88.17 km):
The doubling from Ambari Falakata to New Maynaguri and from New Maynaguri to Gumanihat, a stretch of 88.17 km, has been completed at a cost of Rs 1461 crore. Covering Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri districts of west Bengal, this section has 11 stations enroute.

  After inauguration/dedication/ laying of foundation stone of various railway projects, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Railway Minister proceeded to Joka and took a ride in newly inaugurated Joka – Taratala Metro Rail section, a stretch of 6.5 km of metro rail, directly linking the western part of Kolkata with the central business areas of the city of joy.
