24 STATIONS ARE COVERED WITH“ONE STATION o­nE PRODUCT” OUTLETS IN JHARKHAND TO PROVIDE A MARKET FOR LOCAL/INDIGENOUS PRODUCTS

Kolkata, 16th May, 2023:

Ministry of Railways has launched ‘One Station o­ne Product’ (OSOP) scheme over Indian Railways with objectives to promote ‘Vocal for Local’ vision of the Government of India, provide a market for local/indigenous products and create additional income opportunities for the marginalized sections of the society. Under the scheme, OSOP outlets at railway stations are allotted for showcasing, selling and giving high visibility to indigenous/local products. The pilot of the scheme was started o­n 25.03.2022 and as o­n 01.05.2023, altogether 728 stations are covered with 785 OSOP outlets in 21 States and 3 Union Territories across the country. In the State of Jharkhand, 25 outlets of ‘One Station o­ne Product’ at 24 stations have been started. For uniformity, these OSOP stalls are designed through National Design Institute. Cumulative Direct Beneficiaries from March 2022 till 01.05.2023 is 25,109.

‘One Station o­ne Product’ are specific to that place and include artefacts made by indigenous tribes, handlooms by local weavers, handicrafts like world famous wood carving, tribal jwellery, spices tea, coffee and other processed/semi processed food items/products indigenously grown in the area.

PR No. 36 Tirupati Station Upgradation Works continue in full Momentum


-Work for casting of basement floor roof slab completed

 -Casting of 90% of Air Concourse foundations completed in Platforms 4, 5 and 6 while work is in progress in Platform 1

 

The prestigious project of “Major Upgradation of Railway stations” conceptualized by the Ministry of Railways has been taken up by SCR Zone o­n priority basis and the works are being carried out at a fast pace. In this direction, upgradation works of Tirupati railway station, which have been commenced in May 2022, are being carried out in full momentum.The work is being monitored at all levels so as to ensure timely completion of the project, which is targeted to be completed by February 2025.

 A new Station building is coming up o­n the South side of the existing station building. The works completed so far include - completion of Geological Survey, setting-up of Camp Office, concrete lab & storage sheds, concreting of foundations for the new upcoming station building. 100% casting of basement floor is completed while the remaining works are being carried out in fast manner. Till date, about 11,905 cubic meters of concrete has been used in foundations, columns of basement floor and air concourses.

 The other works that are being carried out include - Raising of columns from ground floor to 2nd floor is in progress. Casting of 90% of Air concourse foundations is completed in Platforms 4, 5 and 6 while works are in fast progress for the same in Platform 1. Excavation work for the construction of sewerage treatment plant of 24 lakh litres per day is completed and 30% concreting of foundations for the same is completed. So far, 2,300 Metric Tonnes of reinforcement steel is utilized in foundations, retaining walls, basement roof slab, underground tank and air concourses.

    Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR has expressed his satisfaction with the speed of the works being carried out and he also instructed the staff to be more vigilant and more careful in the course of execution of the works. He stated that Tirupati being world famous pilgrim destination, the upgradation works are being monitored regularly so that the work is not hampered and it is completed within the targeted time.
