Kolkata, April 26, 2023: Eastern Railway’s Administrative Building of Kanchrapara workshop has received prestigious “IGBC (INDIAN GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL) GREEN EXISTING BUILDING PLATINUM†rating by CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) on April 2023. Kanchrapara Workshop is the first workshop in Eastern Railway to achieve Platinum rating for Green Existing Buildings. Sri Arun Arora, General Manager/ Eastern Railway congratulates all staff and Officers of Kanchrapara Workshop for achieving this prestigious recognition. Key green initiative measures undertaken by Kanchrapara Workshop are detailed as under: Installation of 560 KWp capacity of Solar PV modules. Retrofitting of waterless urinals in existing urinals and Aerator on water fixtures. Vertical Garden 100% LED Lighting Properly Segregate Central waste yard Eco Friendly Chemicals Facility for differently able People, wellbeing facility and so on. On Site waste water Treatment Plant. 2

Kolkata, April 25, 2023 Shri Arun Arora, General Manager, Eastern Railway and Chief Patron/Eastern Railway Sports Association (ERSA) felicitated outstanding sports persons of Eastern Railway for their achievements in 2022-23 in a programme organised at Eastern Railway Headquarters, Fairlie Place, today (25.04.2023). Shri Arun Arora, General Manager, Eastern Railway, apart from providing state- of-the-art facilities for the sports personnel of Eastern Railway has always tried for providing appropriate forum for recognition of their achievements. Today’s felicitation programme is one of such forum provided by the General Manager to recognise the achievements of the Eastern Railway’s sports person to motivate them to continue their endeavour to excel forever in the sports arena. It may be noted that apart from several other steps, Shri Arun Arora, General Manager arranged for development of facilities like hostel, sports equipment etc. at Majherhat sports complex, opening of state - of - the - art indoor stadium at Gholeshapur, Behala and arrangements of coaching camps for cricket, basketball, table-tennis etc. to identify and nurture blooming sports personalities and extract their full potential. In today’s felicitation event, Shri Arun Arora, General Manager, Eastern Railway has felicitated prominent ER sports personalities viz. Md. Ali Qamar, Dronacharya Awardee in 2022-23 and 6 gold medalists namely Sonia Baishya, Pronoti Das, Tanushree Sarkar, Sukhminder Singh, Praveena and Arjun Das. Besides, individual silver medalists and bronze medalists from Eastern Railway in their different sports field were also felicitated. The Eastern Railway Water Polo (Men) team, Eastern Railway Football (Men) team, Eastern Railway Athletics (Women) team, Eastern Railway Gymnastics (Men) team & Eastern Railway Cue (Men) team were also felicitated by the General Manager for winning medals in different National & International Sports Events. Shri A.K. Dubey, Principal Chief Engineer and other principal officers of Eastern Railway were also present on the occasion.
