Kolkata, April 19, 2023: To clear extra rush of passengers in Sealdah – Krishnanagar – Lalgola section for ensuing EID-al-Fitr celebration, one EID special MEMU train will run between Sealdah & Krishnapur and one General second class coach will be augmented with Sealdah – Lalgola - Sealdah Passenger trains. Sealdah – Krishnapur MEMU special will leave Sealdah at 21:38 hrs. on 21.04.2023 ( Friday) and 22.04.2023 (Saturday) to reach Krishnapur at 02:35 hrs. on the next day and Krishnapur – Sealdah MEMU special will leave Krishnapur at 10:10 hrs. on 22.04.2023 ( Saturday) and 23.04.2023 ( Sunday) to reach Sealdah at 15:20 hrs. on the same day. The above MEMU special train will stop at Dum Dum Jn, Barrackpore, Naihati, Ranaghat, Krishnanagar City Jn, Dhubulia, Muragacha, Bethuadahari, Debgram, Plassey, Rajinagar, Beldanga, Sargachi, Behrampur Court, Cossimbazar, Murshidabad, Jiaganj and Bhagwangola stations in both directions enroute. Moreover, one additional General Second class coach will be augmented with Sealdah – Lalgola – Sealdah passenger ( 03171/03192, 03183/03172, 03189/03184, 03191/03190) from 20.04.2023 to 24.04.2023. 2

CONSTRUCTION OF LIMITED HEIGHT SUBWAY IN BETWEEN JIGANJ & BHAGWANGOLA BY ELIMINATING LEVEL CROSSING GATE Kolkata, March 31, 2022: A limited height subway has recently been constructed in lieu of level crossing gate no. 160 between Jiaganj & Bhagwangola in Krishnanagar – Lalgola section of Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division. This limited height subway is of intrinsic importance in terms of efficient train services and also from safety point of view. It is the only double line limited height subway in Sealdah Division by which up & down vehicles can pass having clear span. It could eliminate both level crossing gate no. 160 & 161 and people can move between approach road smoothly and can avoid accidents also. The commission of limited height subway was accomplished by taking a mega traffic & power block of 20 hrs. in Krishnagar – Lalgola Section. From Railway point of view, closure of this busy level crossing gate no. 160 in between Jiagang & Bhagwangola is a big achievement towards commitment of Indian Railways’ target of removing manned level crossings from its existing network in a phased manner. It will substantially enhance safety of passenger and goods train movement. Moreover, this will also help in saving the running & maintenance cost of manned level crossing to the tune of around Rs. 20 lakh per year.
