INCREASE IN FREQUENCY OF COIMBATORE – METTUPALAYAM MEMU SERVICES FROM 6 DAYS A WEEK TO DAILY FROM 11th DECEMBER 2022


As approved by Railway Board the frequency of the following three pairs of MEMU Express Specials running between Mettupalayam and Coimbatore Junction from 6 days a week to Daily was marked by a function at Mettupalayam today 4th December 2022 where the inaugural special was flagged off by Dr L. Murugan, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying from Mettupalayam in the presence Shri A.K.Selvaraj, MLA, Tiruppur (South) Constituency,  Shri AG Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Salem, other invitees, Railway Officials and Passengers.


The regular Sunday services will commence with effect from 11.12.2022 (Sunday) as detailed below.

1. The frequency of Train No. 06009 / 06812 Mettupalayam – Coimbatore Junction – Mettupalayam MEMU Unreserved Express specials will be increased from 6 days a week to Daily with effect from 11.12.2022 (Sunday)

Between Mettupalayam and Coimbatore from 6 days a week to daily with effect from 11.12.2022


Railway Board has approved increase in frequency of the following three pairs of MEMU Express Specials running between Mettupalayam and Coimbatore Junction from 6 days a week to Daily.


The inaugural special will be flagged off by Dr L. Murugan, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying at 16.45 hrs o­n 4th December 2022 from Mettupalayam.
