REGULATION OF TRAINS FOR BRIDGE MAINTENANCE WORK IN EAST CENTRAL RAILWAY Kolkata, May 10, 2022: For maintenance of bridge no 1 in between Samastipur & Muktapur stations, 06.00 hours (09:45 hrs. to 14.45 hrs.) Traffic & Power block has been planned on 14.05.2022 (Saturday) & 17.05.2022 (Tuesday). Consequently, 13043 Howrah - Raxaul Express (Journey Commencing on 13.05.2022) & 17005 Hyderabad Decan - Raxaul Express (Journey Commencing on 12.05.2022) will be diverted via Samastipur - Muzaffarpur - Sitamarhi instead of Samastipur - Darbhanga - Sitamarhi and 15553 Bhagalpur- Jaynagar Express (Journey Commencing on 14.05.2022) will be rescheduled by 120 minutes from Bhagalpur. Inconvenience caused to the passengers is deeply regretted. 2

HOWRAH DIVISION SCALED THE NEW HEIGHT OF FREIGHT BUSINESS IN 2021-22 Kolkata, April 1, 2022 In the Financial Year 2021-22, Howrah division has scripted a new narrative of growth. Freight business of 18.910 MT has scaled the historical high, it has registered the astounding growth of 56.5% as Year-On-Year basis. In the year 2021- 22, for the first time Coal Traffic has touched the two digit mark of 10.130 MT which has shown the clear growth of 119% than the Coal loading of 2020-21. Division has bagged the additional Coak traffic of 75 Rakes from Janai coal siding. Stone Traffic from new Goods Sheds named Chatra and Harinsingh has opened the avenue of incremental Stone Traffic. 8.245 MT Stone Traffic in 2021-22 has also won the glory of all time high Stone loading, since the inception of the division. Outward Stone traffic has jumped in 2021-22 by 15.3% than the year ago. Loading of Food Grains and Cement from Ultra Tech Cement siding has also outnumbered all the previous records. Sheer competitive attitude and aggressive marketing has helped to capture additional traffic which had earlier within the fold of Roadways. Division has added new traffic like Iron and Steel and Sand to the varied Freight Basket. The glorious record which has already been set will be the source of inspiration for forthcoming 2022-23. It is pertinent to mention here that, the freight loading target of Howrah division was revised upwards during the course of the year from 17.74 MT to 18.75 MT to make it even steeper. Nevertheless, the division has managed to surpass the increased goal with ease.
