It is worth to be informed that out of 678 assets, under non-fare revenue, 406 assets were auctioned and 10 contracts were allotted through e-auction by Prayagraj Division North Central Railway. For the first time, contracts for 07 assets were awarded through e-auction. At present, successful e-auction of 10 assets has been done in Prayagraj division, which include 01 parking, 03 pay and use toilets and 06 commercial advertisement related contracts. In which contracts of parking at Sonbhadra, Pay and Use toilets at Kanpur, Etawah and Tundla and commercial advertisements at Prayagraj Junction, Kanpur Central, Naini, Prayagraj Chheoki, Khurja and Govindpuri stations were awarded through e-auction, with an annual total earning of about Rs. 67 lakhs. A total Revenue of Rs. 2 crore 29 lakh is likely to be received by Prayagraj Division during the complete contract period.
Similarly in Agra division contracts awarded through e-auction include parking contract at  Agra Cantt, and for commercial advertisement at Goverdhan & Nadbai.

The contracts awarded through e-auction over Jhansi Division include parking contracts at Gwalior, Datia, Khajuraho and MauraniPur stations; Pay and Use toilets contract at Chitrakoot, Gwalior, Morena, Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi and Datia and commercial advertisement contract of Banda, Lalitpur, Orai, Chitrakoot, Morena, Dabra, Tikamgarh, Chitrakoot , Gwalior, Chhatarpur, Datia and Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi stations were awarded.
Railway Board had issued guidelines on 13.06.2022 for award of commercial contracts through e-auction. Under this, it has been ensured to award commercial contracts like parcel leasing, pay and use toilets, parking, commercial publicity, ATMs, etc. through e-auction.
Under the e-auction, the bidder has to register himself in the IREPS website and for this, one time ₹ 10,000 has to be deposited as registration fee through the IREPS website and the bidder has to open his current account in SBI Bank.
The bidder becomes eligible to participate in any auction after depositing ₹10,000 as registration fee and registering himself on the IREPS website.*
The e-auction process is completely online, being online will increase transparency and  trust. With this policy, any bidder can bid from anywhere. Earnest money at the time of bidding has also been reduced as compared to earlier. If the bidder does not get the contract, the earnest money will be refunded immediately, whereas earlier this amount was not refundable till the contract is awarded. Along with this, in this process, the bidder gets to know how many people are participating in the e-auction and how many are bidding out of them. Through the e-auction process, the time taken in contracts, paper work will also be reduced.
The scope of inviting buyers through e-auction is also expected to increase, earlier the bidder had to come to the office for the tender process, but now bidding can be done from anywhere. Thus hereby simplifying  the complex, traditional and time-consuming process. Apart from this, youth will also get a chance to be a part of the e-auction process. This will facilitate easy working, promote transparency and give impetus to the Digital India initiative in Railways.

North Central Railway carried out electrification of 439 Route Kilometers in 2021-22

North Central Railway carried out electrification of 439 Route Kilometers in 2021-22
652 track kilometers electrification completed by NCR
42 pairs of mail/express trains taken over from Diesel to Electric traction during 2021-22
7 new Traction substations commissioned during 2021-22
In pursuance of Mission 100% electrification, North Central Railway is carrying out electrification of its all routes and of the missing links on war footage. Financial Year 2021-22 proved to be an year of achievements for NCR where massive electrification works got completed in the Zone.
NCR total Broad Gauge network stands at 3222 Route kilometers(RKM), out of which now 3146 kilometers have been electrified. Thus 98% of the total broad gauge network of NCR has been electrified now. The work for remaining 76kilometers is in advanced stage and is targeted to be completed shortly.
In 2021-22, electrification of following routes was completed:

Mahoba- Khajuraho of Jhansi Division (64 RKM)
Khajuraho-Ishanagar of Jhansi Division (57 RKM)
Birlanagar- Udimore of Jhansi Division (101 RKM)
Mainpuri- Shikohabad of Prayagraj Division (51 RKM)
Mainpuri-Farrukhabad, along with Etawah-Mainpuri, Prayagraj Division (107 RKM)
Barhan-Etah of Prayagraj Division (59 RKM)

With these electrification works, Railway network spanning through the parts of districts of Etah, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Firozabad and Agra of Uttar Pradesh and those of Gwalior, Bhind, Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur of Madhya Pradesh will now be served through electrified territories.
The significance of these massive electrification works lie in the fact that it will reduce the bottleneck of change of traction when a train coming from Electric locomotive arrives in a non-electrified territory. Since the requirement of changing of traction is done away with, it increases mobility and thereby is a leap ahead in improving the punctuality of trains. In Financial Year 2021-22, 42 pairs of mail/express trains running through NCR were taken over from diesel to electric traction after completion of major electrification works in NCR and different sections of other zones. Three more pairs of trains will be taken over on Electric Traction after issue of CRS sanction of Etah-Barhan section, Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) inspection of which has already been carried out.
Principal Chief Electrical Engineer NCR Shri Satish Kothari informs that in addition to the electrification of these major routes, all the new doubling or tripling works are being opened along with electrification.  Newly laid Jhansi- Babina third line (Jhansi Division), Bhuteshwar-Chhata fourth line (Agra Division), Dholpur-Bhandai third line (Agra Division) and sections opened in Kanpur-Virangana Lakshmibai section (Jhansi Division) are fully electrified. Massive electrification of existing sidings has also been done in 2021-22. As a result of all these, NCR successfully carried out 652 Track kilometers of electrification in the financial year.
Giving impetus to the power supply installations, 7 new Traction substations were commissioned in 2021-22 namely Chunar, Saifai and Bhongaon (Prayagraj Division); Newari and Harpalpur (Jhansi Division) and Ghosrana and Bhandai of Agra Division.
General Manager NCR Shri Pramod Kumar who conducted numerous inspections in field and called a series of meeting of all the stake holders to get these electrification works completed well in time says that not only punctuality of trains will increase but time taken in placements and removals of goods trains in sidings will alsocome down. “Electrification will also bring environmental benefits along with the improvement in mobility”, says Shri Pramod Kumar.
