Shri K. Arul Jothi took charge as Inspector General cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner (IG-cum-PCSC) of Northeast Frontier Railway on 24th March, 2023. He is an officer from the 1995 batch of Civil Services Exam. As IG-cum-PCSC he will be the security custodian of all Railway assets, structures including track and fixtures, rolling stock, signalling gears and Railway buildings and establishments like Station premises, Booking Offices, Administrative Head Quarters etc. within the jurisdiction of N. F. Railway i.e. all north-eastern states including Sikkim and parts of West Bengal and Bihar. Shri Jothi has wide experience of working in field over many Zonal Railways. He has worked in many sensitive areas such as Mughal Sarai, Danapur, Malda, Sealdah and Secunderabad. Earlier in the year 2017-2019 he was posted as Deputy Inspector General cum Chief Security Commissioner of N. F. Railway. RPF/ER PLAYS PIVOTAL ROLE FOR THE SAFETY OF PASSENGERS Kolkata, December 04, 2022: Railway Protection Force (RPF), Eastern Railway in its endeavour to provide all round assistance to the passengers, render all possible help for commuters as & when situations demand. They are always on toes to extend their healping hands to secure all round security. Some of the recent incidents where RPF/ER made its commendable efforts are detailed as under:- On 30.11.2022, under ‘Operation Sewa’, officials of RPF Post/Bandel rescued an injured male person lying at Bandel Railway Station. He had fallen down while trying to board into running Train 12317 UP Akal Takht Express & sustained injury. After necessary assistance he was shifted to S.D. Hospital Chuchura for treatment. On 30.11.2022, under ‘Operation Yatri Suraksha’, officials of RPF OP/Diamond Harbour under RPF Post/Sonarpur detained a fake person aged about 21 years wearing white paint and white shirt with name plate of Railway employee mentioned as Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer, Sonarpur from Netra Railway Station. on interrogation, he disclosed his identity and also said that few days back, he met with one person , who told him that he is a Personal Secretary of DRM/Sealdah and assured him to provide a permanent government job in Railway in lieu of Rs 5,00,000/-. The accused person had paid in cash Rs. 5,00,000/-and provided him an identity card with one name plate of Eastern Railway with his name, rank & other details. Accordingly, he was handed over to GRPS/Diamond Harbour for further legal action. On 30.11.2022, under ‘Operation Amanat’, officials of RPF Post/Durgapur retrieved a left behind bag and electrical testing instrument set total valued ₹ 25,25000/- 19608 DN Madar Express at Durgapur Railway Station. The bag along with the electrical instrument set was handed over to its owner after proper verification & documentation.
