FLAGGING OFF OF GODDA – RAJENDRANAGAR  EXPRESS

Kolkata, December 10, 2022:

Shri Nishikant Dubey, Hon’ble Member of Parliament flagged off inaugural journey of Godda – Rajendranagar special train at Godda Station today (10.12.2022) in presence of Shri Amit Kumar Mandal, Hon’ble MLA, Shri Vikas Chaube, Divisional Railway Manager/Malda and other Senior Officers of the Division.

 In his speech, Shri Nishikant Dubey, Hon'ble MP thanked Hon'ble Prime Minister and Hon'ble Minister of Railways for introduction of this new train which will fulfill long cherished demand   of local traders & artisans as they will get direct access to bigger markets. Shri Dubey, Hon'ble M P, said that, Godda – Rajendranagar - Godda Weekly Express train will direct link Godda District of Jharkhand with Bihar. Shri Amit Kumar Mandal, Hon’ble MLA/Jharkhand also spoke o­n the occasion and said that the new train will foster socio-economic development of Jharkhand.
       
Regular run of this 13230/13229 Rajendranagar-Godda-Rajendranagar Weekly Express train will commence from Rajendranagar o­n 16.12.2022. 13230 Rajendranagar – Godda Weekly Express train will leave Rajendranagar o­n every Friday w.e.f. 16.12.2022 at 22:15 hrs. to reach Godda at 06:25 hrs. o­n the next day and 13229 Godda – Rajendranagar Weekly Express train will leave Godda at 07:25 hrs. o­n every Saturday w.e.f. 17.12.2022 to reach Rajendranagar at 16:05 o­n the same day. 

The train will consist of air-conditioned & sleeper class coaches. Booking for 13229 Godda – Rajendranagar Weekly Express have been made available from 10.12.2022 through PRS & internet.

The train will stop at Poreyahat, Hansdiha, Mandar Hill, Barahat, Dhauni, Bhagalpur, Sultanganj, Bariarpur, Jamalpur, Abhaipur, Kiul, Hathidah & Bakhtiyarpur stations enroute in both directions.

MALDA DIVISION LAUNCHED MISSION “SUDHAAR”

An initiative- Mission “SUDHAAR” (Service Up-gradation, Decongestion & Holistic Action for Amenities Restoration) is launched over Malda Division by Sri Vikas Chaube, DRM/Malda through S.I.G (Service Improvement Group) to provide an overall improvement in the sector of cleanliness, littering, curbing ticketless travel, organized traffic flow & parking, station upkeep & service quality monitoring etc. Under this mission several activities are being undertaken to upgrade the service provided by Eastern Railway over Malda Division. Special emphasis is given in the field of ticket checking. 

As a part of this mission, an intensive ticket checking drive has been started w.e.f. 09.11.2022 (Thursday) o­nwards. The drive is being conducted over Malda Town-New Farakka, Bhagalpur-Sabour, Bhagalpur-Tikani, Bhagalpur-Barahat sections to minimize ticketless travel under supervision of Assistant Commercial Managers along with Commercial Inspectors, RPFs and Ticket checking staff of Malda Division.

During the last 05 (five) days of this drive from 09.11.2022 to 16.11.2022, a total 2,733 passengers were apprehended while travelling without tickets/improper tickets, un-booked luggage, littering etc. An amount of ₹20,55,905/- was realized as fare & fine. As per extant rule, ticketless travellers are required to pay base fare plus ₹250/- towards compounding action as fine. 

The main objective of the drive was to ensure that no person should travel in Railways without proper ticket and this will also definitely help in curbing the menace of ticketless travel.
