SWR SURPASSES THE ELECTRIFICATION TARGET FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2021-22 o­n 28.03.2022

 Striving towards the vision of Carbon Neutral Railway by 2030, fast-tracking electrification of its network, South Western Railway has achieved 511.7 Route Kms of Electrification as o­n 28.03.2022 surpassing the Railway board target of 459 Route kms for the financial year 2021 – 22.

In the previous financial year 2020-21, South Western Railway had completed 476.7Route kms of electrification of its network.

The following sectionsover South Western Railway have been commissioned after electrification during March 2022:

Yelahanka – Chikkaballapur (45 Route Kms), Tumakuru – Nitturu (27 Route Kms), Sivadi – Omluru (44 Route Kms), Hosadurga – Chikjajur (30Route Kms), Alnavar – Ambewadi (26 Route Kms) Gadag – Hole Alur (48 Route Kms) , Kudachi – Ghataprabha (47 Route Kms ) and Londa – Tinaighat (11 Route Kms).

 General Manager Shri Sanjeev Kishore has stated that no stone is left unturned to achieve and exceed targets. He said that the close co-ordinationand co-operation between Divisions and among Operations and Electrical Departments enabled timely availability of line- blocks to erect electrical infrastructure. He has expressed his gratitude to the excellent efforts of CORE, RVNL and PGCIL which are the executing agencies if electrification works over South Western Railway  

With the completion of this electrification South Western Railway will run more number of trains with electrical engines for major part of the route which is expected to reduce consumption of diesel considerably o­n a daily basis. This will not o­nly reduce diesel and fossil fuel dependency but also enhance the line capacity and speeding up of trains improving punctuality.

From about 200+ RKM in 2016, the electrified track o­n SWR has now risen to .1734 out of total 3566 Route Kms of its network.

ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಹಣಕಾಸು ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರಿ ಮೀರಿದ ಸಾಧನೆ

2030ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಇಂಗಾಲ ತಟಸ್ಥ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಯಾಗುವ ಗುರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ದಾಪುಗಾಲು ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾ ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಜಾಲದ 511.7ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀ.ಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ದಿನಾಂಕ 28.03.2022ರಂದು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ವರ್ಷದ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಂಡಳಿ ನೀಡಿದ ಗುರಿ ಯಾದ 459ರೂಟ್ ಕಿಮೀ ಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರಿದ ಸಾಧನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕಳೆದ ಹಣಕಾಸು ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 476.7 ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀ.ಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಿತ್ತು.

ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2022ರಲ್ಲಿ ನೈಋತ್ಯ  ರೈಲ್ವೆಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಈ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಯಲಹಂಕ – ಚಿಕ್ಕಬಳ್ಳಾಪುರ (45ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳು.), ತುಮಕೂರು ನಿಟ್ಟೂರು (27ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳು) ಸಿವಡಿ - ಒಮ್ಲೂರ್  (44ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳು) ಹೊಸದುರ್ಗ –ಚಿಕ್ಕಜಾಜೂರು(30ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳು) ಅಳ್ನಾವರ – ಅಂಬೇವಾಡಿ (26ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳು), ಗದಗ – ಹೊಳೆಆಲೂರು(48ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳು), ಕುಡಚಿ- ಘಟಪ್ರಭಾ(47ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳು) ಹಾಗೂ ಲೋಂಡಾ – ತಿನೈಘಾಟ್ (11ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳು)

ಪ್ರಧಾನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂಜೀವ್ ಕಿಶೋರ್ ರವರು ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಗುರಿ ಮೀರುವ ಸಾಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ಸರ್ವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪರಿಚಲನಾ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳ ಸಮನ್ವಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹಕಾರದಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವಶ್ಯಕವಾದ ಲೈನ್ ಬ್ಲಾಕ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಸಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ಯಗತಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಾದ CORE, RVNL ಹಾಗೂ PGCIL ಗಳಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಕಿಶೋರ್ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

ಈ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಜಾಲದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಇಂಜಿನ್ ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ರೈಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಚರಿಸುವುದು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಡೀಸಲ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಳೆಯುಳಿಕೆ ಇಂಧನ ಅವಲಂಬನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡಿತವಾಗಿ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಇಂಧನದ ಬಳಕೆ ಗಣನೀಯವಾಗಿ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುವುದು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿ ರೈಲುಗಳ ವೇಗವರ್ಧನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಯ ಪಾಲನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಯಾಗುವುದು.

2016 ರ ವರೆಗಿನ ಸುಮಾರು 200 ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಒಟ್ಟು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಜಾಲದ 3566 ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ, 1734 ರೂಟ್ ಕಿ.ಮೀಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯುದೀಕರಣ ವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ.
