Press Release: TWO RAKE LOADING PER DAY STARTS FROM 30 SEPTEMBER 2021 AT MIRZA CHAUKI STATION UNDER ER’S MALDA DIVISION

TWO RAKE LOADING PER DAY STARTS FROM 30 SEPTEMBER 2021 AT MIRZA CHAUKI STATION UNDER ER’S MALDA DIVISION

Kolkata, November 5, 2021

Eastern Railway is pursuing goods shed infrastructure works relentlessly in order to improve freight loading scenario. In an endeavour to achieve steep freight loading target set by Railway Board, an average 24-rake of goods were loaded per month at Mirza Chauki station under ER’s Malda Division. on 16th July 2021, a meeting was held at Mirza Chauki station with the goods loading parties in which it was proposed to load at least two rakes per day. The traders first expressed their inability. Meetings were held two or three times a row and some businessmen came forward and agreed to loading even in the night.

The main task was to arrange lighting to ensure round the clock loading. Survey was conducted 2 – 3 times for the lighting system. The lighting system started from 29 September 2021 and loading of two rakes per day started from 30.9.2021. Railways got a lot of benefit of freight traffic due to introduction of loading of two rakes daily at Mirza Chauki station.

Last year, in the month of October 2020, only 15 goods rakes were loaded. This year the same goods siding has managed to register 52 rakes loading in the month of October 2021 despite the loading was interrupted time 7 again due to inclement weather. Still it is 3½ times more than that of the last year. Loading of 31 rakes took place in September 2021, there have been 21 rakes more loading in October 2021 as compared to September 2021 and Railway has got more profit of ₹3,28,36,171/-.
