Special Traffic & Power Block for launching of girders for Road Over Bridge between Kalyan and Vithalwadi

Central Railway Mumbai Division will operate special traffic and power block for launching of girders of proposed Road over bridge (ROB) between kalyan and Vithalwadi at Km 54/200 as under:

Block o­n 26/27.11.2022 (Saturday/Sunday Night) from 02.05 AM to 03.35 AM o­n Up and Down lines between Kalyan and Badlapur

Suburban Train running pattern:

UP local leaving from Karjat at 02.33 AM will depart 7 mins late i.e at 02.40 AM, and will be regulated at Ambernath Station arriving destination 25 minutes behind schedule.

Thane local leaving CSMT at 00.28 hrs and CSMT local leaving Thane at 04.48 hrs o­n 27.11.2022 are cancelled.

Express Train running pattern:

• Train No 11020 Bhubaneswar -Mumbai Konark express will be regulated at Ambarnath for 60 minutes and short terminated at Dadar and Train No 18519 Visakhapatnam- LTT Express will be regulated at Badlapur for 15 minutes and arrive destination 20 to 25 minutes behind schedule.

Passengers are requested to bear with the railway administration for the inconvenience caused due to these infrastructure blocks.

Dedication of Home platform, passenger amenities o­n Mumbai Suburban section of Central & Western Railways

Shri Raosaheb Dadarao Patil Danve, Hon’ble Minister of State of Railways, Coal & Mines, Government of India will dedicate home platform at Ambernath and Kopar railway stations, foot over bridges, escalators, lifts and toilet blocks o­n Mumbai suburban section of Central and Western Railways, coach restaurant at CSMT and executive waiting hall at CSMT and Mumbai Central railway stations. Shri Danveji will inaugurate reconstructed Frere Road over Bridge, integrated surveillance system o­n Mumbai suburban section of Western Railway, state of the art POD concept retiring room at Mumbai Central railway station. The Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways will also inaugurate a Railway Public Grievance office at Churchgate at a function to be held at 10 am o­n 17.11.2021.  

Hon’ble Ministers of State of Government of India, Hon’ble Ministers of Government of Maharashtra, Leader of the Opposition of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha and Vidhan Parishad, Hon’ble Mayor of Mumbai, Hon’ble Members of Parliament of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Hon’ble MLA will be present o­n the occasion as Guests of Honour. 

Background:

Home platform: Mumbai Division of Central Railway and MRVC undertook the ambitious work of construction of 2 new home platforms at Kopar and Ambernath stations respectively.
Ambernath station home platform: Overall length of home platform is 280meter and average width is 8meter. 
Kopar station home platform: Overall length of home platform is 308 meter and average width is 7.5 meter. 

Foot over Bridges: o­ne at Titwala (Igatpuri end) 67.8-meter length x 6-meter width; o­ne at Thakurli (Mumbai end) 70-meter length x 6-meter width and o­ne at Nahur (Kalyan end) 47-meter length x 6-meter width.
5 Foot over Bridges at Mahim (North), Bandra (South), between Bandra & Khar, Khar, Santacruz have been provided at a cost of Rs 29.07 crores to ensure safety of passengers besides easing their entry & exit. It will go a long way to control trespassing, avoid overcrowding o­n bridges, etc.

Escalators for comfort and convenience of commuters especially to senior citizens, etc. Two escalators (Up and Dn) at platform number 18 at CSMT end FOB; two (Up and Dn) at Kalyan end FOB at Vithalwadi East circulating area and two (Up and Dn) at new upcoming FOB connecting new platform o­n east circulating area.
Escalators at Malad (2), o­ne each at Borivali and Virar at a cost of Rs 4.60 crores provide comfort and convenience to commuters, especially, to sick, senior citizens and differently abled persons.

Lifts: Passenger lifts in order to help differently abled people at Mulund (one) at platform number 1 o­n new FOB and Kurla (3) o­ne each at platform number 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6.  The lifts are heavy duty type and carry 15 persons at a time. o­ne Lift with 20-passenger capacity has been installed at Matunga Road station at South Foot Over Bridge PF No. 1 / 2 at a cost of Rs. 55 lakhs.

Toilet Blocks
A deluxe toilet for both gents and ladies at Lokmanya Tilax Terminus station with overall size of 20.80meter x 8.50meter. 
A toilet for both gents and ladies at Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar station with overall size of 6.50meter x 4.30meter. 
The existing ladies’ toilet at Borivali has been renovated at a cost of Rs.16 lakh with provision of both Indian and Western closets, bathrooms, blocks for ladies’ convenience & separate toilet block for Divyangjan ladies

Executive lounge and Coach Restaurant situated at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai.  Executive lounge built as PPP under Non Fare Revenue while the Coach Restaurant first in Mumbai City under innovative ideas under catering policy.

Reconstructed Frere Road Over Bridge (ROB)
Frere ROB is located between Charni Road and Grant Road stations of Churchgate - Virar section and was constructed in year 1921. After structural audit of the ROB in September 2019, IIT Bombay had recommended for immediate repair of the girders as emergency measure. The dismantling work of the existing bridge commenced in January 2020. Despite COVID-19 pandemic lockdown since 23rd March ,2020, WR completed the re-girdering and strengthening of substructure with jacketing, including the Approach work of ROB. It has been reconstructed at a cost of Rs 18.65 crore.

Integrated Surveillance System o­n Mumbai Suburban (WR)
The Integrated Surveillance System (ISS) is a work executed by WR to provide for a safe and secure travel experience for the passengers traveling in Mumbai area. The project executed at a cost of Rs 66.05 crores, encompasses a total of 2729 cameras at 30 stations consisting of 2029 Full HD Fixed, 179 Full HD PTZ and 521 Full HD and covering the core suburban section between Churchgate to Virar for crowd management, trespassing control etc with face recognition facility. 

“POD” Concept Retiring Room at Mumbai Central Station
The unique facility at Mumbai Central station consists of a total Pod inventory of 48, comprising of 3 categories, namely 30 Classic Pods, 7 Ladies o­nly, 10 Private Pods and o­ne for Differently Abled as well. While the Classic Pods and Ladies o­nly Pods will comfortably fit o­ne guest, the Private Pod will also have a private space within the room, whereas the Room for Differently abled will comfortably fit 2 guests with space for free movement of Wheelchair.  The passenger can avail all modern facilities at comparatively cheaper rates.

Waiting Hall at Mumbai Central
The Waiting Room has been upgraded with modern facilities such as Fully Air-conditioned waiting room with aesthetic ambience, Cushioned sofa sets, Recliner chairs, Separate toilet facilities separate for Ladies and Gents, Mobile charging points and Tea and light refreshment facilities. The modernization of waiting room was undertaken o­n PPP model. Railways saved o­n expenditure o­n its renovation and managed to generate revenue of Rs.1 crore, towards license fee for 5 years.

Railway Public Grievance office at Churchgate:
A Public Grievance Office at Churchgate station to redress the problems and grievances of Railway Passengers
