Mega Block o­n 24.1.2021

Central Railway will operate Mega Block o­n its suburban sections for carrying out maintenance work o­n 24.1.2021.

Matunga-Mulund Up and Dn fast lines from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm

Dn fast line services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus from 10.25 am to 3.21 pm will be diverted o­n Dn slow line at Matunga, halting at all stations from Sion to Mulund and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.  Fast services beyond Thane will be rediverted o­n Dn fast line at Mulund.

Up fast line services leaving Thane from 10.46 am to 3.26 pm will be diverted o­n Up slow line at Mulund halting at all stations from Mulund to Dadar and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule. Fast services beyond Dadar will be rediverted o­n Up fast line at Parel.

Thane-Vashi/Nerul Up and Dn Transharbour lines from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm

Dn Transharbour line services to Vashi/Nerul/Panvel leaving Thane from 10.35 aa to 4.19 pm will remain cancelled

Up Transharbour line services to Thane leaving Panvel/Nerul/Vashi from 10.12 am to 4.09 pm will remain cancelled.

Transharbour line passengers are permitted to travel via harbour line/main line from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm.

These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.

Maintenance works carried out in Sunday mega block

Central Railway Mumbai Division carried out maintenance work during mega block o­n main line between Matunga-Mulund Up and Dn fast lines & o­n harbour line between Kurla-Vashi Up & Dn harbour lines o­n 17.1.2021.

Engineering works

45 meters of rail replacement, packing and fitting of points, replacement of SEJ sleepers, 2.2 km tamping work done with Duomatic machine, besides welding work, boxing and ballasting work for 450 meters were also undertaken.Work of cleaning of 300 meters of centre drain was also done.

 

OHE works

Annual overhauling of 2.15 km OHE, close inspection of 1.55 km OHE were done along with re-tension ofcontact wires, replacement of 100 meters contact wires, 4 flash insulators and 38 droppers, checking of 18 C/G jumpers andremoval of 13 excess C-jumpers. Erection of 2 masts, 9 brackets, dismantling of rusty offloaded mast, 14 fittings, 5 super masts & spare switch fittings and 4 DC bracket assemblies were done along with lifting of 5 bracket assemblies and 7 span droppers were also done. Provision of 12 bonds, disconnection & reconnection of 34 bonds were also done with tree trimming work at 5 places. These works were carried out with o­ne crane, 4 Tower Wagons and 6 trestle/ ladder gangs.

 

S&T Works

Replacement of medium type location box with modular type location box, signal units, track lead wires, 72 terminals, bonds, friction clutch, detector trolley and wiring tree done along with testing of the same. Drilling of cycle holes, provision of continuity jumpers, re-wiring of signal routes, re-termination of signal in termination box, disconnection and reconnection work of all signal fittings along with coordinating with the Engineering Department for Signal and Telecommunication repair works.
