Train services normalised within two hours. Train services have been controlled enroute due to derailment of a goods train at about 02.25p.m. at Tapang Yard between Khurda Road and Kaipadar Stations in Howrah-Chennai Main Line under Khurda Road Railway Division of East Coast Railway, today. The train loaded with panel rails from Kaipadar Road to Khurda Road. Rear trolley of the goods train has been derailed while passing a crossing. As a result, both the lines are blocked. Train movements in the section have also been controlled enroute. A.11020 Bhubaneswar-Mumbai CSMT Konark Express scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar at 1525hrs has been controlled at Bhubaneswar. B.12703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express will be controlled at Bhubaneswar. C.12868 Pondicherry-Howrah Super Fast controlled at Kalupadaghat from 1512hrs D.12840 Chennai-Howrah Mail controlled at Chilka from 1420hrs. E.22826 Chennai-Shalimar SF controlled at Khalikot from 1525hrs. F.12897 Pondicherry-Bhubaneswar Superfast controlled at Brahmapur from 1528hrs. G.18417 Puri-Gunupur Special left Khurda Road at 1420hrs controlled enroute. There has been no casualty or injury to anyone due to the derailment. The Accident Relief train immediately rushed to the accident site and detached the front portion of the train and rerailment work was started. Railway officers rushed to the spot and worked on war footing to rerail the train by 1650 hrs. Train services are now normalised. 2

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL CROSSING AWARENESS DAY OBSERVED East Coast Railway (ECoR) has carried out intensive public awareness campaigns to educate Road Users during the observance of International Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD) 2021. The Level Crossing Awareness Campaign has been made by ECoR through various media like distribution of posters, leaflets, and Nukkad Nataks etc. Sri Hemant Kumar Dutta, Principal Chief Safety Officer of East Coast Railway led the awareness campaign by participating in the drive at the Level Crossing Gates between Khurda Road & Tapang Stations. He sensitised the road users for inculcating safe behaviour while crossing Level Crossing Gates. Sri S. C. Naik, Deputy Chief Safety Officer and other Safety Officials from Headquarters at Rail Sadan and from Khurda Road Division also participated in the ILCAD. Other Safety officials also participated in the Awareness Drive at Level Crossing Gate between Retang and Kaipadar Railway Stations. Sri Ganesh Chandra Naik, Senior Divisional Safety Officer of Khurda Road Division co-ordinated the Awareness Drive and also counseled Road Users about the precautions to be taken while negotiating the Level Crossings. Distribution of leaf lets and counselling of road users were done and display of banners were also done in the above locations.
