Chennai Division of Southern Railway observed International Level Crossing Awareness Week from 03^rd to 09^th June 2022. Shri. Ganesh, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai has inaugurated the Level Crossing Awareness campaign o­n 03.06.2022 in Chennai Central – Arakkonam section at LC Gate No.13 between Tiruninravur and Tiruvallur railway station by distributing the educative pamphlets to the road and rail users for promoting the awareness of safety in and around Level Crossings. During the period, a Level Crossing Awareness campaign was conducted in Vaniyambadi, Ttrivalangadu, Pattabiram, Korrukupet, Tiruvottiyur, Perungalathur, Pallavaram and Tambaram.

Today (09.06.2022), the awareness campaign was organized at LC Gate No. 27 near Chrompet railway station by Shri. R. Harikrishnan, Sr.DSO/MAS along with Railway Safety Counsellors, Scouts & Guidesand counseled road/rail users to adopt safe practices at Level Crossings Gates by spreading awareness among the vehicle drivers and trespassers that “Life is more precious than time” and risking their life due to negligence of rules.

During this campaign a “walkathon” was organized with Nethaji Scouts Group & Niveditha Guide Company from LC-26 to LC-27. Staff from Engineering, Traffic, S&T, TRD and RPF participated in the walkathon. Safety rules were promulgated to the public through a street play staged by an artist from Natiyalaya (Trichy).

Shri. R. Ananth, ADRM I, Shri. Sachin Punetha, ADRM II, Shri. S. Subramanian, ADRM III and other branch Officers of Chennai Division participated in the awareness campaign program and advised the road users to be alert while driving through railway level crossings and do not endanger the precious lives by ignoring the safety guidelines.

According priority to Passenger Safety and Safety of train operations, as a part of o­ngoing Engineering works, Line Block/Power Block is permitted in Chennai Central - Arakkonam Section at Pattabiram Yard on 07^th May from 19:45 hrs to 04:45 hrs of 08^th May 2022 (09 Hours). Consequently, the following are the changes in pattern of EMU train services.

FULL CANCELLATION OF EMU TRAIN SERVICES

1.Train No. 43794, Pattabiram Military Siding - Velachery EMU local leaving Pattabiram Military Siding at 20:25 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is FULLY CANCELLED.

In lieu of the cancelledEMU (43794) passenger special (PS2) will be operated between Avadi and Velachery leaving Avadi at 21:10 hrs on 07^th May 2022.

2.Train No. 43132, Pattabiram Military Siding - Velachery EMU local leaving Pattabiram Military Siding at 22:45 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is FULLY CANCELLED.

In lieu of the cancelled EMU (43132) passenger special (PS4) will be operated between Avadi and Moore Market Complex leaving Avadi at 23:20 hrs on 07^th May 2022.

3.Train No. 43892, Pattabiram Military Siding - Avadi EMU local leaving Pattabiram Military Siding at 23:55 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is FULLY CANCELLED.

4.Train No. 41138, Velachery – Chennai Beach EMU local leaving Velachery at 22:50 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is FULLY CANCELLED.

In lieu of the cancelled EMU (41138) passenger special (PS1) will be operated between Velachery and Chennai Beach leaving Velachery at 23:20 hrs on 07^th May 2022.

5.Train No. 43102, Pattabiram Military Siding – Moore Market Complex EMU local leaving Pattabiram Military Siding at 03:20 hrs on 08^th May 2022 is FULLY CANCELLED.

6.Train No. 43101, Moore Market Complex  - Pattabiram Military Siding EMU local leaving Moore Market Complex at 04:15 hrs on 08^th May 2022 is FULLY CANCELLED.

PARTIAL CANCELLATION OF EMU TRAIN SERVICES

1.Train No. 43123, Moore Market Complex  - Pattabiram Military Siding EMU local leaving Moore Market Complex at 20:30 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Avadi and Pattabiram Military Siding.

2.Train No. 43125, Moore Market Complex  - Pattabiram Military Siding EMU local leaving Moore Market Complex at 21:25 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Avadi and Pattabiram Military Siding.

3.Train No. 43127, Moore Market Complex  - Pattabiram Military Siding EMU local leaving Moore Market Complex at 22:35 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Avadi and Pattabiram Military Siding.

4.Train No. 43799, Velachery  - Pattabiram Military Siding EMU local leaving Velachery at 22:30 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Avadi and Pattabiram Military Siding.

5.Train No. 43130, Pattabiram Military Siding - Moore Market Complex EMU local leaving Pattabiram Military Siding at 21:50 hrs on 07^th May 2022 is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Pattabiram Military Siding and Avadi.
