AUTOMATIC SIGNALLING BETWEEN Bangalore CantONMENT - WHITEFIELDSECTION IN SWR

Automatic Signaling has been commissioned from Bangalore Cantonment to Whitefield o­n 10:35 hrs of 19.02.2019. It is big land mark in SWR’s journey. This is the first Automatic Signaling in Indian Railway commissioned o­n section with gradients (Slopes). This section has Slip Siding at stations Baiyyappanhalli & Krishnarajpuram.

Bangalore Cantonment - Whitefield section is 19 KM long and commissioned in two phases. In first phase Automatic Signalling between Bangalore Cantonment & Baiyyappanhalli (6 KM) section has been commissioned o­n 10^th February 2019.  In second phase Baiyyappanhalli to Whitefield has been commissioned o­n 19^th September 2019. The stations in this 19 KM long stretch of Automatic signalling section are Bangalore Cantonment Bangalore East, Baiyyappanhalli, Krishnarajpuram, Hoodi (Halt), Whitefield Panel Cabin & Whitefield.

The section from Bengaluru – Baiyyappanhalli - Whitefield is highly important section dealing 86 trains per day. Total 26 short distance/Suburban trains also running in this section.

On commissioning of Automatic signaling in stretch of Bangalore-Baiyyappanhalli - Whitefield, section capacity has been augmented. With the commissioning of Automatic signaling need for trains to wait for the clearance of train in section ahead has been eliminated and trains can move between stations o­ne after another. It will help in moves trains faster.
