Magnesite Junction

In view of Line Block/Power Block for facilitating engineering works in Bridge No.240 in Salem – Magnesite Junction section, the following are the changes in pattern of train services:

Rescheduling of Train services:

·     Train No.13352 Alappuzha – Dhanbad Express scheduled to leave Alappuzha at 06.00 hrs o­n 07^th July 2022 will be rescheduled to leave Alappuzha at hrs 09.00 hrs (Late by 180 Minutes)

·Train No.12678 Ernakulam – Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru Station) scheduled to leave Ernakulam at 09.10 hrs o­n 07^th July 2022 will be rescheduled to leave Ernakulam at 11.40 hrs (Late by 150 Minutes)

Short Termination of Train Services:

·Train No.16087 Arakkonam – Salem MEMU Express leaving Arakkonam at 05.15 hrs o­n 07^th July 2022 will be short terminated at Jolarpettai. The train will be partially cancelled between Jolarpettai and Salem

·Train No.16088 Salem - Arakkonam MEMU Express leaving Salem at 15.30 hrs o­n 07^th July 2022 will commence journey from Jolarpettai at its scheduled departure time of 17.50 hrs. The train will be partially cancelled between Salem and Jolarpettai

Shri John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway congratulated two Southern Railway Staff for their outstanding feat that bagged them awards from Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways and Commerce.  Shri P Saravana Kumar, Senior Section Engineer/Permanent Way, Salem and Shri Shlok Singh, Junior Engineer, Permanent Way, Chennai received General Manager’s accolades for their dedication and devotion to duty. 

Shri P Saravana Kumar, Senior Section Engineer/Permanent Way, Salem showcased exemplary sincerity and hard work in completing record Through Fitting Renewals (TFR)  and  Through Rail Renewals (TRR) at Salem yard.  He devised novel methods for protection of welds during  weld failure substantially reducing restoration time.  Besides, he had put in concerted efforts in reducing precious block time at Points and Crossings at Magnesite Junction in Salem .

 Shri Shlok Singh, Junior Engineer, Permanent Way, Chennai displayed remarkable dedication and agility in Jolarpet Yard remodeling works.  He actively involved in calculation survey of Bridges and track measurements.  He enabled deep screening of Points and Crossings at 16 locations.
