EASTERN RAILWAY TO RUN 12 EMU SPECIAL TRAINS DURING GANGASAGAR MELA •3 existing EMU locals to be extended Kolkata, January 09, 2023 To clear anticipated rush of pilgrims during Gangasagar Mela-2023, Eastern Railway will run 12 Galloping EMU Mela Special trains in between 12th & 17th January, 2023 in different directions from Sealdah South/ Kolkata station/ Lakshmikantapur/Namkhana/ Kakdwip. Besides, 03 regular local trains in the section will be extended during the aforementioned period. Out of 12 EMU Mela specials, 03 trains will leave from Sealdah South, 02 trains from Kolkata station, 05 trains from Namkhana, 01 train from Lakshmikantapur and 01 train from Kakdwip. Three (3) Mela Special trains will leave Sealdah South at 6.15 hrs., 14.40 hrs. & 16.24 hrs., two (2) mela specials from Kolkata station at 7.35 hrs. & 21.30 hrs. and five (5) mela specials from Namkhana at 02.05 hrs, 09.10 hrs., 11.18 hrs., 18.35 hrs., 19.05 hrs., one (1) mela special from Kakdwip at 14.40 hrs and one (1) mela special from Lakshmikantapur at 23.15 hrs. On 15.01.2022 (Sunday), EMU trains in Lakshmikantapur – Namkhana – Lakshmikantapur section will run as weekday’s service. The Galloping Mela Special trains will stop at Ballygunj, Sonarpur, Baruipur, Lakshmikantapur, Nischindapur & Kakdwip stations. Mela Special trains originating from Kolkata station will stop at all stations between Kolkata and Majherhat. No train will stop at Kashinagar Halt station from 09.01.2023 to 16.01.2023, as proposed by State Administration. 2

RPF/ER RENDERED ASSISTANCE TO AN INJURED FEMALE PERSON BETWEEN KASHINAGAR – MADHABPUR RAILWAY STATIONS UNDER SEALDAH DIVISION Kolkata, April 3, 2022 1.On 29.03.2022, on receipt of information from Station Manager/Namkhana Railway station, on-duty staff of RPF Outpost/Lakshmikantapur attended and rescued an injured female person aged about 60 years between Kashinagar and Madhabpur Railway Stations. She sustained severe injuries on her both legs and right hand. Immediately, she was shifted to Government Hospital, Kakdwip with the help of GRP personnel and local people for medical treatment. She could only disclose her name. Further, she was referred to Government Hospital, Diamond Harbour for better treatment. 2.On 30.03.2022, on receipt of information from on-duty Station Manager/Barasat, officers & staff of RPF Post/Barasat & GRP/Barasat attended and rescued an injured male person aged about 35 years near Barasat Railway station. Immediately he was shifted to Government Hospital, Barasat for medical treatment. He sustained injury by an unknown train while trespassing the Railway track. 3.On 30.3.2022, officers & staff of RPF Post/Kolkata Terminal rescued a minor girl while she was found loitering at Sealdah Railway station. She ran away from home as her parents were pressurizing for her marriage with a old age person. Later, she was handed over to Child Help Line/Sealdah through GRP/Sealdah. 4.On 30.03.2022, officers & staff of RPF Post/Kolkata Terminal rescued a minor girl while she was found loitering alone at Kolkata Railway station. She got separated from her family in ‘mela’ at Bangaon and reached Kolkata Railway station by train. Later on, she was handed over to Child Line/Kolkata through GRP/Chitpur on proper documentation. 5.On 30.03.2022, officers & staff of RPF Post/Bhagalpur rescued a minor girl while she was found crying and loitering at Bhagalpur Railway Station. It could be learnt that she ran away from her native place to go to Patna. She was handed over to Child Helpline/Bhagalpur for further course of action on proper documentation.
