SER’S RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE CELEBRATES 35TH RAISING DAY

 

Kolkata, 23rd September, 2019

 

Railway Protection Force of South Eastern Railway celebrated the 35th Raising Day to raise fervor at the Railway Protection Force of South Eastern Railway at this Railway Headquarters. The Raising Day is celebrated to commemorate the conferring of the Armed Force status o­n Railway Protection Force at par with the other Paramilitary Forces of the Union of India o­n September 20, 1985.

 

Sri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, General Manager, South Eastern Railway complimented the outstanding performances of RPF Personnel for their laudable contribution in rendering yeomen services to the passengers and stake holders during Sainik Sammelan and Barakhana at Garden Reach Headquarters today in the concluding day of this celebration.

 

Sri S C Parhi, IG-cum-Chief Security Commissioner, South Eastern Railway encouraged the RPF Personnel for performing their best services for the safe and secured rail travel by the passengers. Safety and Security of the passengers depend o­n the active duty of RPF Personnel and people would gain confidence in travel.

 

As a part of Raising Day celebrations, a series of programmes viz. Blood Donation Camp, Cleanliness Drive, Health Check-up, Sainik Sammelan, Distribution of Fruits to the Indoor Patients of SER Central Hospital, Tree Plantation, Awareness Session o­n Security Helpline – 182 amongst Passengersetc. were organized.

 

Raising Day was celebrated by the RPF Personnel in all the four Divisions of South Eastern Railway i.e Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi with great enthusiasm to raise the morale of the RPF Personnel.

SANJAY KUMAR MOHANTY - SER’S NEW GENERAL MANAGER

Kolkata, 20th September, 2019:

 

Sri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty has taken over as the new General Manager of South Eastern Railway. Prior to this, Sri Mohanty was posted as Principal Executive Director, Traffic Transportation, Railway Board, New Delhi.

 

Sri Mohanty is an alumnus of the Delhi School of Economics and belongs to the 1985 batch of Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS). He worked in various important posts in Indian Railways viz. Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer in East Coast Railway, Divisional Railway Manager at Khurda Road Division etc. Sri Mohanty also worked with distinction in various Senior Capacities at Mumbai, Nagpur, Jhansi and in Konkan Railway where he was well known as a System Builder for various innovations in administration. His contribution in Rail Transportation over Indian Railways is noteworthy, vast and varied.

He has keen interest in Sports and other Socio Cultural activities.
