IMPACT OF BHARAT BANDH OVER TRAIN SERVICES OF ER

Kolkata, December, 8, 2020:

     Train services over Sealdah and Howrah Divisions of Eastern
Railway were marginally affected due to Bharat Bandh today (8.12.2020).

Train services over Sealdah Division were obstructed at Deula, Jadavpur in Diamond Harbour Section, Madhyamgram, Habra, Ashoknagar and Dum Dum Cantt. in Bangaon Section, Dakshin Barasat in the Sealdah – Lakshmikantapur Section and  Kankinara in the Sealdah-Ranaghat Section.

Bandh supporters have thrown banana leaves o­n the overhead wire between Hotor & Baruipur o­n the up line and between Bahirpua & Sangrampur both o­n the Sealdah-Diamond Harbour Section.

In the Howrah Division, obstructions were made at Rishra, Saktigarh and Bally stations.

As a sequel to this marginal obstructions, 29 trains in the Sealdah Division and 8 trains in the Howrah Division had to be cancelled. The squatters had to call off obstruction with the intervention of RPF and GRP personnel at several places.

     There was no incident of any obstruction to train services over Asansol and Malda Divisions of Eastern Railway.

PRESENTLY HOWRAH AND SEALDAH DIVISIONS ARE OBSTRUCTION FREE AND NORMAL TRAIN SERVICES ARE IN FORCE.

PRESENT POSITION OF OBSTRUCTION TO RAIL MOVEMENT AT DIFFERENT PLACES OVER ER

PRESENTLY OBSTRUCTION CONTINUING IN THE FOLLOWING PLACES:

Train movements in Howrah, Asansol & Malda Divisions are normal at present.

TRAFFIC  REPERCUSSION  TILLNOW:

Howrah Division  =   42 EMU trains cancelled over Howrah Division

05 Trains diverted via Chord  =  12384, 13012, 13028, 13053, 53044.

Sealdah Division =  126 EMU trains cancelled over Sealdah Division.

TRAINS DETAINED IN HOWRAH DIVISION :- 3 UP  and  4 DN  Mail/Express detained enroute.
