RAILWAY RUNS TWO PAIRS OF  EXPRESS SPECIAL TRAINS TO CLEAR RUSH DURING SUMMER-2014

2 PAIRS OF EXPRESS SPECIALS WITH TOTAL 52 TRIPS

              

Inorder to clear extra rush of rail passengers during the ensuing Summer season, the Railway has decided to run special train nos 04735/04736 Bikaner-Haridwar-Bikaner (Express) Special (total 26 trips) and 04733/04734 Sriganganagar-Jammu Tawi-Sriganganagar Express Special (total 26 trips) as per the following programme:-

04735/04736 Bikaner-Haridwar-Bikaner (Exp) Summer Special (13 Trips in each direction)

              The  04735 Bikaner-Haridwar(Exp) Summer Special train will depart from Bikaner o­n every Friday from 04.04.2014 to 27.06.2014 (13 trips) at 07.45 p.m. to reach Haridwar at 10.25 a.m. the next day.  In the return direction, the 04736 Haridwar - Bikaner Summer Special train will depart from Haridwar o­n every Saturday from 05.04.2014 to 28.06.2014 (13 trips) at 07.55 p.m. to reach Bikaner at 09.10 a.m. the next day.

              Consisting of o­ne AC 2 tier, two AC 3 tier, seven Sleeper Class, six General Class and two Second class cum Luggage Van coaches, the 04735/04736 Bikaner-Haridwar-Bikaner (Exp) Summer Special train will stop at Napasar, Sudasar, Sri Dungargarh, Rajaldesar , Ratangarh Jn , Churu, Sadulpur  , Loharu , Mahendragarh , Rewari, Delhi Jn. Shamli, Tapri and Roorkee stations enroute in both the directions.

04733/04734 Sriganganagar-Jammu Tawi -Sriganganagar Express Special  (13 Trips in each direction)

               The 04733 Sriganganagar-Jammu Tawi Express Special will depart from Sriganganagar o­n every Wednesday from 02.04.2014 to 25.06.2014 (13 trips) at 11.15 a.m. to reach Jammu Tawi at 11.55 p.m. the same day.  In the return direction, the 04734 Jammu Tawi -Sriganganagar Express Special train will depart from Jammu Tawi o­n every Thursday from 03.04.2014 to 26.06.2014 (13 trips) at 04.00 a.m. to reach Sriganganagar at 04.55 p.m. the same day.

              Consisting of o­ne AC 3 tier, seven Sleeper Class, six General Class and two Second class cum Luggage Van coaches, the 04733/04734 Sriganganagar-Jammu Tawi -Sriganganagar Express Special  train will stop at Abohar, Fazilka, Jallalabad , Guru Harsahai , Firozpur City , Makhu , Lohian Khas , Kapurthala , Jallandhar City and Pathankot City stations enroute in both the directions.

              In addition, for the convenience of rail passengers during the ensuing summer  season, Northern Railway has planned to run special train nos. 01027/01028 Chatrapati Shivaji T.- Varanasi- Chatrapati Shivaji T. Weekly (24 trips), 01075/01076 Chatrapati Shivaji T.- Varanasi- Chatrapati Shivaji T. (02 trips), 02111/02112 Lok Manya Tilak-Lucknow Jn. AC ( 26 trips), 01451/01452  Lucknow Jn.- Pune Weekly (26 trips) & 01047/01048  Lokmanya Tilak T.- Gorakhpur - Lokmanya Tilak T. Railway Budget 2014-15-MATTER PERTAINING TO NORTHERN RAILWAY

introducing the Railway Budget 2014-15

12th February, 2014- MATTER PERTAINING TO NORTHERN RAILWAY (This is besides all other common proposals in the budget)

 

i. National Project of Kashmir witnessed a major landmark last June, when

11.2 km long tunnel linking Banihal with Qazigund in the valley became

operational. The tunnel, which is an engineering marvel, has reduced the

distance from 35 km to 17.5 km., provides an all-season means of

transport for the local population and is proving a boon for the

inhabitants. Also, construction o­n Udhampur – Katra section, which will

enable lakhs of pilgrims from all over the country to reach foothills to

Vaishno Devi shrine directly, has been completed and trial runs have

started. We expect to run passenger services up to Katra very shortly(FZR DIVN)

ii. Expansion of Railway Network: Sections commissioned in 2013-14 include:

New Lines

A. New Morinda to Sanewal (54 Km) thereby complete commissioning

of Chandigarh – Ludhiana

e. Qazigund – Banihal (19 Km)

Three new factories viz., Rail Coach Factory at Rae Bareli has become functional and commenced production;

x. Specially designed coaches for adverse weather conditions have been

inducted for rail travel in Kashmir Valley.

 

State Govt. collaboration:

I wish to place o­n record my appreciation of the initiative of the State

Governments of Haryana for agreeing to share cost of several Rail projects in their respective areas

Semi-High Speed Project

20. Besides the High Speed project, Indian Railways also intend to explore low

cost options for raising speeds to 160-200 kmph o­n existing select routes like

Delhi-Agra and Delhi-Chandigarh.(DLI & UMB Divn)

 

Demand Management through Dynamic Pricing

27. There are seasonal and occasion-specific instances when the demand for

travel by certain trains goes up and the level of demand satisfaction becomes low.

Passengers are prepared o­n such occasions to pay more to undertake their journey.

Keeping this in view, a Premium Air-Conditioned Special was introduced o­n the

busy Delhi – Mumbai sector with shorter Advance Reservation Period in

December 2013 – January 2014. The fare charged included a dynamically varying

premium over tatkal fare of the Rajdhani services. Such dynamic pricing was widely

appreciated by the users and the media and gave increased earnings of about 48%

as compared to Rajdhani services o­n the same sector. We are considering

operation of this scheme o­n larger scale.
