CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING, DIVERSION OF SOUTH BOUND TRAINS DUE TO OVERFLOWING OF WATER ON RAILWAY TRACKS IN EAST COAST RAILWAY
Kolkata, 26th October, 2013
Due to heavy rains and floods in coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, water is flowing over the tracks at several places between Khurda Road and Visakhapatnam Stations of East Coast Railway. Train running to South India through normal route from Howrah area via Bhubaneswar-Khurda Road-Visakhapatnam is suspended since the evening of 23.10.2013.All the South bound trains are being diverted via Jharsuguda-Bilaspur-Nagpur route or via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Titlagarh route.Similarly, all the Howrah bound trains comingfrom South India(destinations such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Ernakulam, Yesvantpur, Kochuveli, Thiruvananthpuram etc.) are running via diverted route via Nagpur. Since the diverted route is much longer and already congested, these diverted trains are getting late.Consequently, SER is being forced to cancel some long distance Mail/Express trains

MEASURES ADOPTED BY SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY IN VIEW OF HEAVY RAIN FALL IN WEST BENGAL
Since there has been heavy rain fall all over West Bengal since 25.10.2013 night, safety measures in train running have been tightened.
Â·Emergency Controls havebeen opened in all the four Divisions viz., Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi.
Â·Special Patrol Teams are inspecting sensitive locations viz., bridges, cuttings etc. and are on the look out for rising water levels or any other issue involving train safety.
Â·Strict vigil is being kept by the Railway personnel at sensitive places wherethere are water bodies near theRailway Track and watch is being kept at rising water levels.
For the convenience of rail passengers and to clear extra rush during festival season, Railway has decided to run Special train Nos. 02235/02236 Guwahati- New Delhi- Guwahati Weekly Superfast, 05045/05046 Lucknow Jn.- Lalkuan- Lucknow Jn. Weekly & 05312/05311 Lucknow Jn.- Ramnagar- Lucknow Jn. Weekly Express as per the following programme :-
02235/02236 Guwahati- New Delhi- Guwahati Weekly Superfast Special Train (14 trips)
The 02235 Guwahati- New Delhi Weekly Superfast Special train will depart from Guwahati on every Wednesday from 16.10.2013 & 27.11.2013 (07 trips) at 05.55 a.m. to reach
Consisting of four AC II Tier, three AC III Tier, three sleeper class, two general class and two disabled friendly second class cum luggage van coaches, the 02235/02236 Guwahati- New Delhi- Guwahati Weekly Superfast Special train will stop at Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurdwar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Katihar, Begusarai, Barauni, Hajipur, Chhapra, Balia, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly & Moradabad stations enroute in both the directions.
The 05045 Lucknow Jn.- Lalkuan Weekly Special train will depart from Lucknow Jn. on every Thursday from 17.10.2013 to 28.11.2013 (07 trips) at 11.25 p.m. to reach Lalkuan at 06.30 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 05046 Lalkuan- Lucknow Jn. Weekly Special train will depart from Lalkuan on every Friday from 18.10.2013 to 29.11.2013 (07 trips) at 01.00 p.m. to reach Lucknow Jn. at 09.00 p.m. the same day.
Consisting of one AC III Tier, three sleeper class, six general class and two disabled friendly second class cum luggage van coaches, the 05045/05046 Lucknow Jn.- Lalkuan- Lucknow Jn. Weekly Special train will stop at Bareilly, Rampur & Rudrapur City stations enroute in both the directions.
The 05312 Ramnagar- Lucknow Jn. Weekly Special train will depart from Ramnagar at 11.20 a.m. to reach Lucknow Jn. at 09.00 p.m. the same day, while in the return direction, the 05311 Lucknow Jn.- Ramnagar Weekly Special train will depart from Lucknow Jn. at 11.25 p.m. to reach Ramnagar at 08.30 a.m. the next day. Both trains will depart on every Monday with immediate effect upto 25.11.2013 (07 trips in each direction).
Consisting of one AC Chair Car, five General Chair Car, two General class and two disabled friendly second class cum luggage van coaches, the 05312/05311 Lucknow Jn.- Ramnagar- Lucknow Jn.
