N.F. Railway has upgraded the 20501 / 20502 Rajdhani Express running between Agartala and Anand Vihar Terminal (New Delhi) under project swarn. Project Swarn is a project launched by the Ministry of Railways to improve the services in Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express trains.

Under the project, attention has been laid o­n ten focus areas – housekeeping, punctuality, o­nboard entertainment, security, staff behaviour, catering, toilets, coach interiors, linen and o­nboard cleanliness.

N.F. Railway developed and created aesthetic and passenger friendly coach interiors o­n running rakes to establish new standards in passengers comfort in the Agartala – Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express under the project. Coach Exteriors & Interiors, toilets, o­nboard cleanliness, staff behaviour, catering, linen, punctuality, security, and o­n-board entertainment were bettered under the project. Real time feedback from passenger is also a part of Project Swarn. The Exteriors & Interiors look of the coaches has been upgraded by Vinyl Wrapping of Gang Way, Door Way and internal areas of Coaches. o­ne way Vision Film has been provided o­n window glass in all coaches that keeps the privacy of passengers. Train Time Table o­n Acrylic Sheet & Unified Instruction Board has been provided in all coaches. Heritage photos with lighting effect & wooden Texture Flooring has been provided in 1st AC Coaches. Integrated Braille signage has been provided in all coaches. Toilet Feedback System has been added by which a passenger can provide feedback for cleanliness of Toilet. Toilet Seat Cover Dispenser in Western Style Toilet of 1st AC & 2^nd AC Coaches & Bio-toilet Instruction board has been provided in Toilet of all Coaches. For o­n board entertainment of passengers there is free Wi-Fi Hotspot device in all Coaches.

With this N.F. Railway has upgraded 3 trains under “Project Swarn” namely; New Jalpaiguri – Howrah Shatabdi Express, Dibrugarh – Guwahati – Naharlagun Shatabdi Express & Agartala – Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express. In addition to these, 20503 / 20504 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express and 20505 / 20506 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express are also planned to be upgraded under “Project Swarn” by May, 2019.
