LIFE SAVING ACT BY RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE

Two RPF staff who were o­n duty at Yelahanka station, saved the life of a passenger who slipped and got stuck between the gap of platform and train while trying to deboard a moving train.  o­n 24.04.2021 at about 06:33 hours,  while o­n rounds at Yelahanka station, Shri Madhav Singh CT/004 and Shri Ashish Kumar CT/076 while attending Train No. 01301 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus - KSR Bengaluru Express, at Platform No. 03 Yelahanka Railway station, noticed that o­ne passenger later known as Shri M. Gurjeeth Singh aged 39 year S/o Prathap Singh, R/o Barnala dist, Pnajab-148104 travelling in coach no. D1 while trying to deboard the moving train  slipped and fell down between the gap of the platform and train and his right foot got crushed and further he was being pulled down by the momentum of the moving train.

Immediately both RPF staff rushed towards him and pulled him to safety and saved his life. They provided first aid to the injured passenger and took him to General Hospital, Yelahanka where he has been treated for severe blood loss and later shifted to Victoria Hospital for further treatment.

The incident was intimated to their family members who expressed their gratefulness for the timely action by RPF in saving the life.  South Western Railway requests the passengers not to board or deboard a moving train, which may endanger the precious life.
