A surprise check conducted by Railway Officials on Train No. 12728 Hyderabad – Visakhapatnam, Godavari Express on 27th May, 2015 between Secunderabad and Kazipet led to the nabbing of a Imposter who was travelling on a fake Railway Duty Pass.
Going into the details of the case, the imposter Bala Nandeeshwar Rao claiming to be a Railway Official was found travelling by Godavari Express in Air Conditioned II Tier Class in A-1 coach on berth no. 26 on a fake Railway Duty Pass. The Railway Officials who undertook the surprise check nabbed the imposter and handed him over to the Govt. Railway Police (GRP).
On enquiry, the imposter was identified as a employee of IRCTC, who was dismissed from service for committing serious frauds. The person is habituated in obtaining berths by forging the signature of Senior Railway Officials and also sending messages to Railway Control Room on fictitious names. A case has been registered with GRP, Kazipet under Crime No. 70/15.
Shri G. Laxminarayan, Chief Commercial Manager, SCR stated that preventive checks are being intensified to arrest similar fraudulent practises. He also spoke with the Superintendent of Police/GRP and Chief Security Commissioner/ Railway Protection Force (RPF) about the incident and further course of action on the matter.
